I was very excited after watching the first episode of GMA Network’s Voltes V: Legacy. It was a huge breath of fresh air. For one, finally being able to see what had been worked on for years and delivering a truly exciting first half hour was so exciting. And two, having something of this magnitude be an all-Filipino production was such a major accomplishment.
Steve and Zardoz meet in the fiery rubble to finally end it all, but for some reason, the show instead chooses to cut to Big Bert and Judyalah sharing a romantic reunion first.
The Armstrongs are already celebrating Zambojil’s defeat. But Zardoz wakes up in a cockpit and after he confirms his identity, the huge statue of Dios ng Digmaan turns itself into a Beastfighter-sort of thing. Papa Ned orders the Voltesers to hop into Voltes V.
While Zardoz mourns Zandra, the human forces declare the Boazanian peoples have officially been liberated. Dr. Hook and a soldier stumble upon Zandra’s dead body and Dr. Hook says it doesn’t matter who she is. What matters is that all the death and destruction finally comes to an end.
Zandra is with a still unconscious Zardoz in her family’s castillo. She again apologizes for having brought him back to Boazan, knowing he would not like it. When Zardoz wakes up, Zandra informs him of the impending collapse of Zambojil’s empire and shows him scenes across the planet of alipin rebels laying waste to their previously horn-controlled lands. And it is all thanks to the arrival of the Erthuians.
After the jump, Commander Garth welcomes the Erthuians to the planet of Boazan. Zambojil orders Oslak and Zander to also welcome these new arrivals with the force of their saucers army.
Solar Bird grabs the bomb and tosses it into space to safely explode away from Erthu. The Voltesers quickly return to CBF where Dr. Hook and his peoples find it is not of this planet. When Solar Falcon comes to hover above CBF, it plays a message from Papa saying he has prepared everything they need to fight off the Boazanians.
Steve blames himself for Eva attempting to murder Jamie. Jamie says no, the fault is Eva’s alone. He still feels bad though and Jamie agrees that she is very kawawa right now. She suggests he prays for her instead.
Mark takes care of all the Boazanian troops that come after them and tells Little Jon to get the alipins to safety and request immediate backup from the EDF. Draco initially has no problem taking on the Voltes III, but one cut from Steve’s dagger and he goes down. He decides to kill himself for honor instead of getting captured by these homsaks.
Oslak stops Zander from slitting Hrothgar’s throat. They have their soldiers drag them away to be locked up. But Hrothgar uses a special device he created that unleashes a painful, high-pitched deafening sound to anyone now vaccinated against it. This allows them to escape into the forest.
