Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 83 – Honor
Mark takes care of all the Boazanian troops that come after them and tells Little Jon to get the alipins to safety and request immediate backup from the EDF. Draco initially has no problem taking on the Voltes III, but one cut from Steve’s dagger and he goes down. He decides to kill himself for honor instead of getting captured by these homsaks.
Zandra can’t believe Draco would do such a thing. Zardoz salutes his general for the last time. But he will not take this lying down. Zandra tries to stop him from acting recklessly, but Zardoz is intent on killing the Voltesers for what they’ve done.
Back at CBF, Dr. Hook uses hologram effect to get Eva on her back and into custody. Once back in the command center, Dr. Hook receives Little Jon’s call for backup.
The Voltesers split up to look for Papa Ned. But Steve runs into Zardoz instead.
They battle until Steve manages to knock Zardoz to the ground. Zardoz refuses to just give up and asks Steve to kill him instead.
Just then, Zandra arrives. She orders the Boazan troops to kill Steve as she whisks a now unconscious Zardoz away to safety. She cries, saying she cannot see him in this way even if she knows he would rather die than be saved like this.
Mark, Jamie and Big Bert come to help Steve just in time and they have to hurry out as the castillo crumbles just as Zandra’s ship launches into the sky.
After some clip show padding, Dr. Hook tells the Voltesers back at CBF that they’ve caught Jamie’s assassin: Eva. Steve says he knew this all along.
Later, Jamie confronts Eva in the holding room. Eva says they are the same since both of them like to hurt others. She brings up how Jamie tried to ruin Mark’s life. Just because you’re part of the Voltes V doesn’t automatically make you a heroine especially when you hurt others.
Jamie says at least she feels guilty for what she’s done. Eva says she would do it all again if she got the chance, except this time, she’ll finish Jamie off for reals. Jamie wishes her good luck with the judge.
Episode Thoughts
Why this episode feels like it just negated the last few episodes again? Are these also new scenes just to fill the extension? And then the clip show half of the episode too. Lol Oh well.
I was about to say, Steve and Zardoz’s battle should’ve been in the final week. And I guess that’s still the case. So that’s good.
The Eva stuff though was hilarious. She does have a point about Jamie playing the heroine when she’s not some saint either. At least Jamie is not a murderer though lol
Lol at Steve’s “I knew it all along!” Shut up bro. lol
Draco’s suicide would’ve been fine if they actually a long, drawn out battle with the Voltesers. Instead, it was a pretty short, underwhelming face off. Draco as a major general deserved a better send off. Instead, he came across as pathetic as Zuhl.
Voltes V: Legacy Episode 83 is supposed to be available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
But they want you to watch live on TV because their linear ratings have collapsed and it’s a bit embarrassing. They’re even lower than both their lead-in and lead-out programs last week. Yikes.
I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
