Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 59 – Okozenia

Voltes V Legacy Episode 59 Recap

General Oslak laughs at the Voltes team, calling them animals and saying he is sure to wasak Voltes V. Just then, they find that their raider system is experiencing a cascade failure and are now vulnerable.

Draco salubongs Oslak as he arrives at Zardoz’s Earth castle. When they reach Zardoz, Oslak is defiant and has no problem fighting off Draco or Zardoz’s troops. Zardoz allows it and Oslak just wanted to show off his impenetrable armor which he wants to use on Beastfighters to make them unbeatable even against the Laser Sword.

Zardoz agrees they should give Oslak a chance. But later, he interferes with Zandra while she is working, causing their consoles to short-circuit. Oslak blames Zandra. But both Zandra and Draco put Oslak on notice, saying he needs to be the one that adjusts to how they run things here.

Voltes V Legacy Episode 59 Recap

Back at CBF, Tomas describes his findings on the bulalakaws that fell on the base when Oslak arrived. Dr. Hook believes their big electromagnetic energy is what is causing their system failures. He orders the rest of the meteors be cleared immediately. Dr. Hook acknowledges Oslak is a talented scientist.

Zandra and Draco go to Zardoz and warn that perhaps Oslak is also a spy like Zuhl. But Zardoz refuses to hear any such suggestion.

Meanwhile, Steve and Eva take selfies while walking outside after dinner. She kisses him goodbye when she has to leave. Jamie approaches Steve and asks him if he’s back together with Eva. He says he doesn’t know why she’s asking him this so she leaves. Big Bert comes and teases Steve.

Next day, Jamie tells her friend that Steve is so manhid. She doesn’t understand why she has to be in love with someone who doesn’t love her back and thinks maybe she should just get over him. Just then, Dr. Hook arrives and orders Jamie to get to work.

Down in the ocean, Oslak introduces his Beastfighter Okozenia to Zardoz. Zardoz warns Oslak not to pangunahan him and to recognize he is still the leader. But Oslak says his bulalakaws will allow them to attack without the Voltes V without warning.

Dr. Hook has the Voltes team go around the island to destroy the meteorites. But Okozenia comes flying in and they are able to see the incoming Beastfighter.

Episode Thoughts

Minus the pabebe stuff, this was a solid episode. Refreshing to see more of the Boazanian drama instead. And I hope the show can do more with the infighting. It’s more interesting at this point than the relationship drama which I honestly am surprised has lasted this long. Episode 60? And we’re still seeing Eva all over Steve? It’s probably the least interesting thing on the show, tbh.

It’s funny how they keep mismatching episode titles. “The Strongest Metal” seems more suited to be today’s title instead of yesterday’s. Where is the miscommunication there, I wonder.

Voltes V: Legacy Episode 59 is supposed to be available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel.

But they have been very late posting the episodes lately. So nothing yet as of this posting.

I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.

  1. I enjoy reading your recaps for Sentai and Kamen Rider and also Voltes V: Legacy. But I’ve noticed from your V5 recaps that it seems like you’re kinda getting tired of the show. 😅 Like you’re over it or something. Just my feeling. But it’s also funny to see your comments on the episodes. I kind of agree that the show feels too long and sometimes boring or weird pace.
