Taiya meets with Naito Raita, the head of Lighting Tech and the man Taiya considers his mentor and inspiration to become a deliveryman. Shashiro tells the others that Naito had developed a clean system that was targeted by intelligence agencies. Afraid the data would be stolen, Naito entrusted Taiya with the delivery of that data.

Just then, Investigator Shirabe (after getting over her initial giddiness from BunBun greeting her) alerts the Boonbooms to an incoming alien entering Earth’s orbit.

The son of one of his employees is undergoing surgery and since he’s a huge fan of the Boonboomgers, Naito had a special plush made for him. He would like Taiya to deliver it in his red car.

Naito says he will pay Taiya handsomely for the job. But Taiya says bringing a smile to a child’s face is payment enough. Naito reminds Taiya of a saying to never turn down what is offered.

On the other side of town, the General3 feel lazy on this humid day. But they are surprised by the arrival of Cannonborg. Born and raised on the planet Needham, he is the Hashiryan Remodeling Commander.

Yaruka says he is lamer than MadRex. But anyway, Cannonborg is here to get this Earth mission back on track. Dekotorade and Ittasha try to get Yaruka to stop making snide remarks about Cannoborg. And Ittasha quickly tosses a key at a parabolic antenna to bring about Antenna Grumer.

The Grumer starts rampaging downtown and placing antennas on all the peoples which allows him to control their bodies. The Grumers start forcing them to do TikTok dances which then produces a lot of gashollin.

The others fight off Nejirettas and Shashiro is able to knock out Antenna Grumer to release the peoples from the body control. But Antenna Grumer suddenly pops up and gets a new power up. Dekotorade asks Ittasha if she’s responsible for that, but she has no idea. Yaruka realizes it might have been Cannonborg. And indeed. Cannonborg had infused the Grumer with some of his remodeling powers earlier without the others knowing.

The Grumer is now overpowering the four Boonbooms. Shashiro, Mira and Jou unfortunately get antennas installed on their heads. Genba does what he can to keep the other three under control until Taiya arrives.

Genba fills Taiya in on what’s going on before he and Taiya try to find a way to get their friends back. Through their fighting, Taiya is able to find an opening and BunBun confirms that they can block the radio waves by Boonbooming as much as they can.

Sure enough, that does the trick. The Boonbooms are back to normal and together deliver a finisher at the Grumer. Yaruka gobbles up the gassholin and heads onto the highway. The Boonbooms follow and drive Yaruka back out.

The Boonbooms combine into Boonboomger Robo Shovel and PatCar 2 Custom before upgattaing into Boonboomger Robo Knight. They deliver a perfect circle swordplay finisher to finish off the Grumer for good.

The General3 bow in apology and Cannonborg says he will be taking over this mission from now on.

Episode Thoughts

Just as expected. Another wonderful episode with the Boonbooms! hehe

Though it was very carefully limited, we get a bit more of Taiya’s backstory with the introduction of Naito. Though my first thought was “What are they doing in Kougami’s office?” Lol Such a recognizable place. Was waiting for the delivery Taiya had to make be a birthday cake or something lol

Also, I want a Boonboom plush! All five please! Plus a BunBun one too!

Anyway, it’s very interesting to learn about Taiya’s mentor. Of course, we know nothing about Taiya’s family situation or anything like that. So him having a mentor who seems to treat him basically like a son definitely opens some possibilities.

Both good, heartwarming as well as emotional, dramatic possibilities too. For Taiya’s sake, let’s hope Naito has no ulterior motives. For our sake as viewers, let’s hope he does for full dramatic effect! Hehe.

I think the biggest takeaway is Taiya being sincerely happy at seeing the boy’s smile. It’s shows that Taiya is very sincere in his mission like this. And perhaps it’s because of his own childhood and past. Maybe he didn’t have a happy childhood or something like that. We’ll see!

Meanwhile, I loved the first henshin by the four. Each of them with their cool moves that even the General3 were impressed and wowed by it. Really cool moment there. My favorite though was Shashiro’s:

The arrival of Cannonborg is good. I assume we’ll have a succession of generals visit Earth as the General3 continue to be clumsy and unsuccessful, And I think that can be a very good dynamic to have until we get the Final Boss situation.

Overall, another great, fun and enjoyable episode with the Boonbooms!
