Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 76 – Battle
Takeo and Arisa are pretty good, but Zaki is growing impatient. She wants them to finish this battle yesterday. Mark says this is all Steve’s fault, but Steve refuses to admit he makes bad decisions. Even when just seconds earlier, he tries to lecture Mark about being able to admit your weaknesses and use that as strength like Commander General Robinson had taught them. Little Jon cries.
Jamie and Big Bert get knocked to the ground. Takeo and Arisa demand they release General Watson, but Jamie insists he is dead.
Mark and Steve step forward to battle the twins next. But all five of them decide to fight together like a human-sized Voltes V robo. The battle begins and the five of them are able to get the twins on their knees.
But Steve tells the others to let the twins go and then tells the twins to go back to where they came from. He stops himself from admitting that they are Hrothgar’s kiddos as a way to endear themselves to the master fighters.
Zaki cannot believe this nonsense. She has never lost anything ever. So she orders her kawal to kill these Erthuians. But Takeo and Arisa suddenly knock out the kawals and help the Voltes team escape. Takeo and Arisa acknowledge their kagitingan and the Voltes team hurries to the portalis.
Zardoz scolds Takeo and Arisa for sucking. Zaki agrees, but Zardoz is upset with her as well for making moves on her own. Zaki throws Takeo and Arisa under the bus by saying they let the Voltes team go instead of killing them.
Takeo and Arisa say they didn’t kill them because they’re good people. Zardoz laughs at their incompetence. But he’s not surprised because they are alipin homsaks.
Zardoz is shocked when they tell him General Watson is dead.
Episode Thoughts
A meh episode. I would’ve liked to have seen more knock-down, drag out fights between the twins and the Voltesers. If they really wanted to drag the show out longer, have entire episodes focused on fighting. That would definitely be much better than some contrived soapbox speech from the Voltesers, especially from someone like Steve where he just ends up being hypocritical. Lol
A waste of Pancho Magno and Kylie Padilla too. Let them be badass a bit longer. It’s hard to believe the Voltesers could easily beat them like that.
Otherwise, a very thin episode. But considering the extension, that’s too be expected.
Voltes V: Legacy Episode 76 is supposed to be available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
But they want you to watch live so they can boost the ratings and post on social media how much they’ve beaten Batang Quiapo in the ratings!
I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
