Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger Episode 25 Recap

Jeramie is still sulking about his potential role in starting this war. But their immediate concern is how to stop Desnarak’s plan. Yanma suggested they combine all 20 ShuGods and quickly showed how to do so and how it could withstand 79 seconds inside Chikyuu’s core. But they would need someone to pilot each of the 20 ShuGods. Without them, they won’t be able to tap KingOhger’s full power.

Just then, they hear a rumble outside and hurry out. Jeramie is shocked to see Gerojim and Sanagims causing trouble. Gerojim says he is everywhere and nowhere and humans should no longer exist.

Jeramie stops the others and asks to leave this to him. He henshins and battles Gerojim who says there’s nothing weird about this since he is a Bugnarak, after all. Gerojim taunts Jeramie, but Jeramie is able to gain the upper hand and forces Gerojim out of his illusion. Jeramie says he just wants an end to this war and is frustrated that his simple wish has to continually be denied.

Episode Thoughts

A good episode. The lead-up to the battle was okay for me. I understand and appreciate the idea of having everyone come together and how everyone’s equal and all that. But the battle was definitely the highlight, followed by Jeramie and Gerojim’s scene.

Interestingly, this was the episode that kind of comforted me about the season moving forward. Like, the pacing has worried me about the season losing steam and material later on. But this episode kind of got me to the point where I have decided to set aside those worries and just hop along for the ride. Kind of set aside any expectations and come what may, in a sense.

I dunno why. But the episode just made me feel that way. Whether or not Desnarak is actually finished off next episode doesn’t really matter for me anymore. Rather, I’ve established my viewing of the season as more on seeing how the Ohgers are able to come together while also looking after their own kingdom’s peoples. The many potential conflicts that may arise from that dynamic seems to be what the season is moving along with. So that’s very interesting. And it offers up a different approach to what can be familiar Sentai themes.

And that is while there is of course plenty of mystery and questions left to be answered as well.

So overall a good episode with some great action in the beginning and end.

  1. This has been a rather unique season of Sentai hasn’t it? Even more so, because as indicated by new promotional images, after episode 26, there’s going to be something of a time skip. That’s never happened before in any other season, so I’m interested to see where that goes.

I have to assume that, after Desnarak is taken care of next week in whatever capacity (personally, I hope that, given the last episode built up nuance around him and revealed his familial link to Jeramie, he’ll be spared and imprisoned), the second half of the season will revolve around Racules’s return (we all know he’s not dead. Falling off a cliff means very little in Toku lol.) and the truth behind the Fury of the Gods incident and the identity of the cloaked figure. My personal theory at the moment is that the cloaked figure or whoever masterminded that incident has been pulling the strings and playing the long game with the Human-Bugnarok conflict for whatever reason. Sorta like Long from Gekiranger.

Also, as a side note, Rita’s awkward attempts at social interaction from episode to episode never fail to be both funny and endearing lol.

    1. A time skip? Interesting.

And yes, I would think Jeramie’s guilt will end up being misplaced. And it may help peel back more of his history and his family as well.

    2. Man this episode is one of my favorite episode without being a character focused one. The episode just handled the 20 piece mecha stuff along with the allies as the pilots plot very perfectly. The battle just highlighted the contrasts and similarities of the people who was piloted the mecha ver skillfully with each one having their own chance to shine within the amount of time they were given. I hope they will do it more or just when required in the future episodes. I think the time skip will feature more interesting storylines. I hope Rcules returns again having been in a coma or amnesia during the time skip. I really want him to fight alongside the team against the bigger threat they’re going to be facing. I think that the next episode is like the finale to this arc of the series airing alongside the finale of Geats like the one in Donbrothers which aired alongside Revice’s finale but with King-Ohger’s own style. This series is making me excited entertained and engaged at the same time with fast pace. They just kept my favs Rita, Kaguragi and Jeremy exactly how they were and are now without much changes in their personalities. The other cast too frankly speaking. I just hope the series will continue being itself without any interruptions.
