Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 75 – Face Off

Mark says he pities Big Bert and Little Jon for worshiping such a poor leader like Steve. The two of them tussle and end up knocking Jamie to the ground. She yells that she’s going to get sent back to the hospital because of them. She begs them to grow up.

Just then Zaki cackles as she reveals herself to them and mocks them for being immature. She brings Little Jon out and the four of them shoot at the barrier posts to break free of the circle. Zaki holds a dagger to Little Jon’s neck and demands they drop their weapons or he’s dead.

Zaki shoves Little Jon back towards them and he has an extended flash back to describe how he was kidnapped. She invites them inside to introduce them to Takeo and Arisa who she has tasked with killing them. The Voltes team arrogantly scoff, thinking that they will be able to easily handle them.

Arisa asks what they’ve done with General Watson and the Voltes team has an extended flashback to their encounter with him. Jamie tries to falsely insinuate that he’s still alive, but Mark comes right out and asks what they want his Watson’s dead body. Through more extended flashbacks, they admit that General Watson sacrificed himself for the good Boazanians, unlike them.

Takeo and Arisa cannot believe their father-like figure is dead. It’s time to battle. Jamie steps forward to take on Arisa while Big Bert steps up to face Takeo. Zaki thinks they’re hambog.

Zaki invites Steve, Mark and Little Jon to take a seat and enjoy the show.

Episode Thoughts

The flashbacks! Lol No doubt including as many clips to help pad the episodes.

I really feel like the novelty and awe-inspiring wonder of the show has worn off. It seems to have overstayed its welcome now by Episode 75. And we still have three weeks left to go. Again, I get the necessity to maximize the return on investment, but still, maybe they needed to find another way. Or at least, work even harder to try and fill the episode order.

Anyway Contessa (with two “S”s) Zaki has good reads on people. She definitely got the “hambog” right. Lol

I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
