Voltes V Legacy Episode 66 Recap

Jamie wants to talk to Mark, but he asks to just leave him alone. She says no matter how much he avoids her, they’ll always run into each other. Plus, they’re friends. Mark says they are only teammates, nothing more. “I respect that,” Jamie says and agrees to leave him alone.

Meanwhile, Oslak plays an intercepted message from the Agilang Bakal to the rebel alipins. Zardoz recognizes the voice of General Watson and realizes he is a traitor.

An enraged Zardoz says he’ll go face the kalabans himself. Zandra says he shouldn’t do that because he cannot die. “Who said I was going to die?!” he replies. He declares that he will be the one to give battle orders from now on. Zandra decides to take things into her own hands and goes out on her own to risk her life for the prince that she loves.

Voltes V Legacy Episode 66 Recap

Back at CBF, Jamie stops Big Bert from smashing a vending machine who doesn’t want to give him food. She takes the opportunity to ask how Steve is doing and he teases her.

But Steve is busy. Zandra stumbles upon Steve doing a reconnaissance training mission and she decides to take this chance to attack. He is able to get some hits on Zandra’s saucer. “Homsak!” Zandra can’t believe how bastos Steve is to her.

Oslak reports to Zardoz who can’t believe she is doing this. She begs him to allow her to fight, but he orders her to return. Oslak suggests just leaving her be, but Zardoz shoots at him and tells him to shut up. Draco laughs at Oslak for foolishly thinking Zandra is so dispensable to Zardoz.

Anyway, Zandra insists on finishing Steve off. But Steve instead clips her saucer and it begins to freefall. Zardoz says she will be punished for what she’s done.

Draco and Oslak head out in the Skull to take advantage of the incomplete Voltes team. The Voltes IV fly out and Mark, who takes the lead with Steve gone, suggests they split up as the Boazanians will likely attack from different sides.

Voltes V Legacy Episode 66 Recap

Big Bert and Little Jon disagree and say their Kuya Steve is better, but Jamie tells them to respect Mark as second in command. Octo-1 agrees with her. Mark says he will prove Steve isn’t the only ace on the team.

Turns out Mark’s strategy works. They help each other by watching each other’s back and are able to easily take care of the initial waves of saucers.

Meanwhile, Steve lands at the park where Zandra crash landed and the two of them engage in a laser battle. Steve says he doesn’t make patol to women, but he will defend himself if he’s being attacked.

Steve comes up behind Zandra and knocks her out. “Maganda ka sana eh, kaso pangit ang ugali mo.”

Voltes V Legacy Episode 66 Recap

Just then, Kuya Zardoz Manuel arrives and Steve demands he surrender. They both get some cuts on each other, but are otherwise evenly matched. Both of them knock their weapons out of each other’s hands. Zandra wakes up, but Zardoz tells her to stay back and stay out of this.

Zardoz has extra Boazanian powers, but Steve is able to knock him down. Zandra approaches, but Steve tosses a grenade at her.

Before Steve can kill Kuya Manuel for good, Boazanian soldiers arrive to save their prinsipe and princesa-to-be.

Back at the air battle, the Voltes IV do their best to keep up with the unending hoard of saucers. But Steve arrives just in time to help finish the job.

Episode Thoughts

Actually a pretty good episode. First of all, I liked Mark shutting Jamie down at the beginning. And I almost felt sorry for her, but then she immediately started thinking about how to get with Steve again. So that empathy flew away with the retreating flying saucers lol

I also liked Mark asserting his role as second in command. I feared they would end up showing his plan failed. But it actually worked. So that’s great. Phew!

All the other lighthearted comedic stuff was okay. Not the best, but also not too egregious to affect the rest of the episode.

Zandra going out on her own is a good development. Again, none of these things feel seamless or free-flowing due to the choppy editing for a weekday teleserye. But on its own, it’s great to see Zandra take the initiative and it fits with her character. Doing everything she can for her dear prince, almost blindly so.

Zardoz coming down to fight his little brother was a good moment. I like seeing more on-ground battles. And I guess it helps to set-up the big battle in hell that was in the trailer between Zardoz and Steve.

Overall, a relatively good episode. Especially compared to what we’ve gotten recently.

Voltes V: Legacy Episode 66 is supposed to be available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
But they usually post it as late as possible in order to drive more people to watch live and juice the ratings so they can post more ratings art cards on social media. =)

I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
