Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 37 – Namazuka
Zardoz is admiring the dagger Hrothgar had meant to leave for him. But he is interrupted when Zandra and Zuhl come in to introduce the new Beastfighter to him. This one is specifically created to counter the ultraelectromagnetic technology of the Voltes V robo by sucking up its energy.
Zardoz is pouring some liquor as he congratulates Zuhl on being a great general, but he instead gives the cup to Zandra and tells Zuhl to leave. After he does, Zandra notices the dagger on the table and asks Zardoz where it came from.
He flashes back to when the manggagamot handed it to him, saying it used to be Rozalia’s and was meant to be given to him at birth as a symbol of the love of his mother… and father. Zardoz curses his father and says he would not hesitate to use this dagger to kill him if ever he were alive.
Over at CBF, Steve is scouring the CCTV footage to see who might have killed Apable. Jamie sees him and thanks him for his concern. She wants to treat him to dinner in town as a way to thank him. But Steve thinks of Mark’s request to him and tells Jamie that she doesn’t have to thank him and he’s busy tonight anyway.
Jamie immediately hounds Steve that he is avoiding her and asks what the problem is. Steve apologizes and says he just has something to do. He offers to have Little Jon, Big Bert or Mark accompany her instead.
Jamie confides in her friend Anna who tells her it is so obvious that Steve likes her. Jamie says she likes him too, but doesn’t think he feels the same way. Anna tells her to just go for the guy she wants.
Meanwhile, Little Jon and Big Bert also tell Steve to forget about Mark and go for Jamie too. Steve says he doesn’t want to ruin their team’s improved chemistry by causing trouble. The kuyas tease Little Jon when he says he knows how Steve feels, but in reference to him not being able to tell their Papa Armstrong that he loves him since he was just a baby.
Back in Boazan, General Watson reports to Zambojil that they were unable to capture the rebel leader, not telling him that he had let Hrothgar escape. Zambojil orders Watson be punished for his failure.
Over at the ocean base, Zardoz comes to see the new Beastfighter, Namazuka, in person. Zardoz is very excited to see its immense power and orders it to immediately attack Earth.
Elsewhere, Mark calls Steve to ask for a favor. He has Steve buy some flowers for Jamie and bring them to her room. Jamie initially thinks they’re from Steve and is disappointed when he tells her otherwise.
Next day, Namazuka arrives on Falcon Island and the Voltes team hops into their Machines.
Ugh. What a cringe episode. Gross!
Lol I’m definitely not a fan of this one since it was basically a Steve-Jamie episode. And I’m not about that nonsense lololol
I do like seeing how the show is very much setting up Steve and Jamie as being assholes. We know Jamie is going to entertain Mark’s ligaw-ing to her. That while we already know she actually likes Steve. So essentially both Jamie and Steve are going to actively do stuff that will intentionally hurt Mark in the end. Leading him on? Douchey. Instead of just coming clean and saving everyone the trouble.
That door scene? OA naman! lol
Jamie with her “You’re avoiding me? You’re avoiding me! What’s the problem? Why are you avoiding me?!” lolol Like, omg Calm down! I’ve definitely noticed how people at CBF really like to jump to conclusions lol But also like to beat around the bush too. Must have been part of their CBF training.
This was definitely a teleserye episode. So that’s honestly what made it a bit blah. But the Steve-Jamie stuff certainly did not help either lol
Voltes V: Legacy Episode 37 is available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
However, it is restricted to the Philippines only. Hopefully it will be made available worldwide soon!
(Full, unbroken-up episode should be posted tomorrow, as of this post.)
I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
