Episode Thoughts

A very byun start for Sakito and Byundi! Loved this episode!

I have really loved the five Boonbooms so far (plus BunBun and Investigator Shirabe as well and the General3 too). And just on first impressions, Sakito and Byundi should be great additions as well!

Sakito’s personality here is great. Fun with the right amount of mystery. A nice and cool guy, but also with a touch of danger and uncertainty too when henshined.

It was such great news a few weeks ago when Yu Miyazawa was announced as taking on the role. He had such an impactful performance as Alpha on Gotchard for one episode. I imagine he had already been cast as Sakito before having filmed for Gotchard. But Toei definitely saw something in this guy and already I think they made a great choice here.

He’s such a charismatic actor and he’s shown that he’s versatile considering Alpha in Gotchard and Sakito so far in Boonboomger are such different characters. Really looking forward to seeing him and the rest of the cast interact more.

I loved Sakito’s face off with Taiya. The way that scene was directed and choreographed was so cool and moody. The two actors also played off each other so well. Hope we get similar scenes with the other four Boonbooms too beyond what we saw here.

As for the character, very interesting about him potentially going missing at 10 years old. I hope whatever his backstory is, it will be a good one. Hopefully emotional. And maybe even relating on Taiya’s own childhood as well. We still don’t really know much about those backstories. So I hope the show has something great planned for them later on.

Very interesting to think about him being a “cleaner” too as traditionally, the cleaners in crime and action dramas and stuff basically clean up after a crime or something like that. I doubt it’s that serious here lol, but in relation to deliveries and the like, perhaps he is someone hired to clean or fix a problem or dilemma someone might have. And in turn, will deliver that solution for those clients.

Also, Sakito’s character song, I assume, was really awesome. Added so much to the great action in that battle with the Kurumaju.

It’s funny how I realized where Byun Diesel’s name comes from only when BunBun said his name out loud at the end of the episode. Antonio Banderas, I’m not sure what his connection is to fast cars and the like. But Vin Diesel? That’s definitely the perfect name to draw upon for this show. lolol

Overall, a really great introduction to Sakito and Byundi. The Hashiryans moving along with their own plans too. Just Boonboomger on cruise control (in a good way!) and being fun and exciting for 16 weeks straight now!
