Racules says him serving Dagded has always been the move. Jeramie stops Gira from attacking Racules and whisks him away. Kamejim tells Racules that cleaning up Chikyuu is pretty fun. Racules bows down to Kamejim and says they will die for the Galactinsects’ amusement.
Jeramie explains to Gira that if the other countries are really being controlled by the Jesters, Gira is the ace up their sleeve and he must remain safe. Gira hopes the other Ohgers are doing well.
Yanma is back in N’Kosopa where he stumbles upon the Three Magi destroying every single computer in the country.
Over in Jeramie’s ice palace, Douga comes stumbling in having hung onto one of God Tarantula’s legs when Jeramie and Gira flew over. Douga apologizes for not being able to resist Racules as it felt like his family was being held hostage.
Just then, a beat up Yanma comes stumbling in as well. Douga explains to them how Hirubiru’s mind control allowed for the collapse of N’Kosopa overnight. It was the first kingdom to fall in their absence.
Jeramie wonders why Hirubiru didn’t have a worldwide broadcast to facilitate a faster collapse of the kingdoms. Kaguragi arrives and explains that her power does not work that way and is only effective by her whispers in the person’s ear. Yanma realizes that Hirubiru’s brainwashing would be easy considering 90% of N’Kosopa wears headphones that can easily be hacked.
Hirubiru exploited that and brainwashed the N’Kosopians to destroy every computer in the country.
Kaguragi suggests they prioritize in taking back N’Kosopa as they must be able to control the fake news being peddled by the Galactinsects. In fact, signs have been put up across Toufu offering royal privileges for anyone who can capture the dethroned kings.
Kaguragi and Yanma snap at each other, saying each other’s peoples would easily sell them all out. But Gira gets them to stop and tries calling Hymeno and Rita for an all-hands on deck operation. Hymeno, however, has already regained control of Ishabana while Rita is busy rounding up the criminals in Gokkan. Neither are eager to come over and help the boys.
Yanma calls Shiokara who has managed to avoid brainwashing thanks to wearing earplugs. Shiokara says the brainwashed are looking for the main computer that controls all of the country’s systems.
Shiokara worries that if the brainwashed get control of the main computer, Yanma will go back to being a poor junkyard programmer. Yanma asks if that’s the case, will Shiokara go back to working on counterfeiting money.
Shiokara pretends not to know what Yanma is talking about. But both of them flashback to a couple of years ago.
Shiokara and the Three Magi, working for a counterfeit gang, confront Yanma at the junkyard about developing a counterfeit detecting machine. Yanma says he was annoyed so much counterfeit money was being spread about so he made the machine and sent it out. Yanma says he won’t call the police, so they should just scurry off.
Annoyed by Yanma’s cocky attitude, Shiokara kicks him and grabs his hair. They aren’t afraid of any cops. The king is gone and their country has collapsed. If you want money, you gotta take it in this day and age. And it’s your own fault if it gets taken from you. So Yanma should know his place, especially since N’Kosopa is dead.
Yanma, however, believes in the hope of technology running the world in the future.
Back to the present, the guys head to N’Kosopa where Yanma uses the main computer to short-circuit everyone’s headphones, seemingly breaking them free of Hirubiru’s control.
Hirubiru appears and Kaguragi charges toward her. She tries to brainwash him, but Kaguragi can’t be controlled. He pretends to fall under her spell, but instead bodyslams her. Kaguragi is the master of deception, Yanma comments and suggests he had been baiting Hirubiru this entire time.
Gira, Kaguragi and Jeramie henshin to take on Sanagims while Yanma is left with Hirubiru. He also henshins and they battle. But Hirubiru sneaks up behind Shiokara who had kept earplugs in. When he sees Yanma run up, he takes them out and Hirubiru is able to whisper in his ear.
Shiokara puts his mask on and charges toward Yanma. But he somehow is able to hold his first back from hitting Yanma’s face.
They both flashback to the past when Shiokara’s mob boss threatens Yanma with an offer: Yanma uses his techno-babble to help with their counterfeit ring or they finish him off.
Yanma tells them to just quit with the counterfeit since paper money will become obsolete and digital currency will take over. The boss has no idea what the hell he’s talking about.
Yanma continues that relying only on things they can see will lead to failure. The boss tells Yanma to shut up or he’ll kill everyone he holds dear. Yanma spits on the ground and says he isn’t privileged enough to have anything to lose. He only has the wisdom in his head that no one can take away.
Shiokara grabs Yanma and pleads with him to explain why he continues to fight back like this. They were doomed from the moments of their birth. But Yanma says technology is something that can turn 0 into 1.
Yanma’s words had inspired Shiokara enough that he turned and punched the big boss in the face.
Today, Yanma is able to maintain control of his own body enough to grab the lie detector helmet and put it on. He repeats that he will indeed destroy the main computer. But he only gets zapped since it knows that is a lie. Shiokara’s resolve can overcome Hirubiru’s control.
Shiokara struggles to stand. Yanma tell shim to stay down. But Shiokara continues to lie and get zapped. Hirubiru says he’s gonna end up f—ing himself up.
Shiokara remembers the Three Magi worried about what the big boss might do to him after knocking him unconscious. They ask why Shiokara would die for some rando. But Shiokara says he has hope in Yanma being able to change their country for the better. He will quit this criminal life.
Yanma says they should fall in line behind him as he will use his computer to change 0 to 1 and rebuild this country. Yanma is sure he will reach the top. Shiokara is officially in love and he pledges to follow Yanma-kun until the day he dies. The Three Magi follow as well.
Back in the present day, Shiokara has been zapped repeatedly. Hirubiru tells him to hurry and complete her order or he’ll die. Yanma tells her to f- herself.
Shiokara gets up on his feet and says he is ready to fall here. Hirubiru laughs and thinks it’s gross Shiokara will risk it all as a retainer for his king. Shiokara will do anything to help Yanma reach the top.
Shiokara puts the lie detector helmet back on and lies one last time. But instead of getting zapped, Yanma slams his computer on the ground. It bounces up and Yanma slices it in half.
Everyone is shocked. Yanma says Hirubiru’s control is done and he will take Shiokara back with him. Hirubiru is mockingly touched that Yanma would throw his country away for some used up trash like Shiokara.
Yanma carries Shiokara on his back. Gira tells him not to apologize as he did the right thing. “I owe you one,” Yanma says.
Hirubiru thanks them for coming and cackles. She kicks the two computer halves off the side of the throne platform.
Shiokara wakes up outside with Yanma in the middle of the ruins of N’Kosopa. Shiokara thinks this means Yanma was able to defeat Hirubiru. Yanma says this is just like how the country was before. Realizing the situation, Shiokara grabs Yanma by the collar and says why would he give this country up for him. Yanma says he was moved by something he could not see. And realizes that maybe he did find something he cherished.
Shiokara cries and says he is sorry. He falls to his knees as Yanma looks out at the devastated N’Kosopa. Yanma tells Shiokara not to cry because it all begins at 0. Shiokara lets out a wail.
Wonderful episode! I always appreciate episodes that focus less on the toy commercial and more on just simple story. And this was a great story to tell. I was a bit worried at the beginning because I really hoped these coming episodes would each be a focus on each Ohger and maybe provide more backstory to them. Learning more about how they came to power and how their kingdoms came to be. Things like that.
At first, it seemed like the show was going to speed through Yanma’s story again. But they delivered in a big way later on. And I really enjoyed it.
Very fun seeing Shiokara’s evolution from being the right-hand goon to a criminal to falling for Yanma and being the right-hand man to the president lol Quite unexpected, but a lot of fun.
I’d love to see more of Yanma’s growing up though. And more with his mentor. This was a good focus episode for him in showing how he was able to take that first step to power. But it was definitely more on inspiring Shikara and friends and giving them hope.
It would be awesome to see more of his struggles before the events of this episode.
I also like that they didn’t immediately resolve the problem this episode. I would’ve expected they take back N’Kosopa this episode. But seeing that’s not the case is good. And definitely leaves open a lot of story to come.
Some little things with Racules. And interesting to see Hymeno and Rita preoccupied in their own countries. Otherwise, this was very much a Yanma-focus. And I think it reminded me of why Yanma used to be my favorite Ohger before Jeramie popped up. Very very good episode. I think it will be one of my favorites of the year.
