Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 78 – Attack the Rebels
At CBF, Jamie approaches Mark to ask if he’s sure he doesn’t want to come with. He says he doesn’t want to be a bother in Jamie and Steve’s search. She insists that she and Steve are not together. But Mark points out that she still wants to be with him. Jamie says she cherishes her friendship with Mark and would never do anything to hurt him. She wants things to go back to the way they were.
At the rebel camp, Judyalah approaches Hrothned to talk about the Armstrong Bros and of course her love Big Bert. Back in Boazanianan, the maharlikas question Zambojil why it’s taking so long to sakop Erthu. He assures them that everything will be alright, he just chose the wrong commander for the mission in Zardoz.
Zardoz, meanwhile, has ordered the attack on the rebel camp just as the Voltes III head to the location as well. Zandra and Draco show Zardoz their new Beastfighter Zunaizer and he orders them to have it attack CBF now that three of the Voltes pilots are gone. That is despite Oslak saying they should have it attack the rebels, but Zardoz is sure the Voltes III will get called back, leaving the rebels open.
Dr. Hook orders Mark and Little Jon to hurry out to face the Beastfighter as he calls the other three back. Big Bert is annoyed as Steve says they must return instead. Steve tells him to focus.
The saucers begin attacking the rebel camp. Hrothned sends a transmission to CBF begging for help as they do what they can to hold down the rebel fort. Dr. Hook seems to know who it could be from.
Baron Zander calls Zardoz to mock him for having failed so far and says Zambojil’s patience is running out. Zardoz is incensed and says their entire existence and honor rests in the result of this decisive battle.
Dr. Hook calls Steve and tells them the rebels need their help, so they need to finish off this Beastfighter immediately.
A better episode since it was focused on the action. (After some meh teleserye moments with the Judyalah missing Big Bert and Jamie playing the victim to Mark lol)
Great scenes at the rebel camp. Nice scenes with the Volt Machines, though the CGI for the Beastfighter seems a bit lesser compared to previous ones.
I certainly hope Zardoz gets this win finally. He needs to get at least one. I mean, you have to see the heroes struggle and lose before they rise up and win. Overcoming such adversity makes for a much more exciting hero’s story, yes?
Voltes V: Legacy Episode 78 is supposed to be available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
But they want you to watch live so they can boost the ratings and post on social media how much they’ve beaten Batang Quiapo in the ratings!
I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
