Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 72 – The Culprit

Of course the masked kendo assassin is Eva. Steve arrives at the medical bay where Mark is already with an unconscious Jamie. Steve snaps at Mark before sitting with her alone. He tells her that she has to live because he loves her so much.
Meanwhile, ghostCommander General Papa Armstrong visits Jamie in her sleep. She starts to flatline when she hugs him. But he tells her that he prays for her survival and reminds her that he is always with her no matter what.
Steve immediately runs and confronts Eva about being the culprit. But she says he doesn’t have any proof and threatens to press charges if he continues falsely accusing her. When Steve returns to the medical bay, Jamie is awake and perfectly fine. Mark sees them and leaves.

Later, the Boazanians are attacking worldwide. Steve says Jamie can’t fly yet so Eva offers herself up as a replacement. Jamie says she’s fine and a Robinson and convinces everyone, including Dr. Hook that she can go. Eva regrets not finishing Jamie off when she had her chance.
Zardoz has ordered a total invasion of Erthu with saucers flying over Japan and other non-Philippine countries. EDF fighter jets from around the world join in on the air battle.
Zardoz is fine with his crashing saucers because they are going to spread the microbio. Too bad when Zandra and Draco unfortunately admit that the microbio is killed by the extreme heat of the crash explosions. “Homsak!”
Zandra and Draco, however, are more concerned with how the Erthuians knew of their attack. Turns out Oslak had called CBF earlier to warn them about everything, per Zambojil’s orders.

Episode Thoughts
OMG EVA IS THE ASSASSIN?!?!?! Who would’ve guessed that?!
I’m glad we’re back to the bread and butter of Voltes V and that is the action/battle scenes of course. Much more interesting and exciting than the drama that started the episode.
Especially when your pacing and editing has Jamie flatlining and meeting her dead father before commercial break and when we’re back, she’s awake and perfectly fine. Lol Come on now.
Anyway, it’s going to be another failed mission by Zardoz thanks to Oslak’s shenanigans. So essentially, the same result as we’ve gotten even before Oslak arrived on Erthu. That’s why you want to mix things up in the meantime. Even Kamen Rider and Sentai mix things up week to week. Sometimes the heroes win easily, other times they struggle. That hasn’t really been the case with the Voltes team.
Oh well!

But they want you to watch live so they can boost the ratings and post on social media how much they’ve beaten Batang Quiapo in the ratings!
I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
