Episode Thoughts

I assumed the episode title referred to Mechanical Ex Machina… I mean Mechanical Papa… I mean Mechanical Eagle. But then Mark immediately came back so then I was like “Oh wow! They consider Mark a savior! Nice!” And than Mechanical Eagle showed up at the end and I thought, “I should’ve known better.” Lol

Anyway, it would’ve been more impactful for Mark to have been gone longer, even if into the next episode at least. Can’t have a prodigal son moment if he’s only gone for a few minutes.

But I also think part of the series’ bad pacing is their poor sense of time. We don’t get the sense of whether a few hours or a few days have passed between events.

Like at the start of the episode. Why immediately jump to the scene of Jamie being kawawa in her room? Why not have the scene of her telling Mark she doesn’t feel well first. Then jump to Zardoz and Co. before jumping back to then Mark ringing Jamie’s doorbell.

So it feels like things just happened a couple of minutes ago when it would seem that they want to make it look like a much longer length of time has passed. Very strange. But I suppose that’s also part of the problem with the hour-long episode-to-teleserye episode editing. I dunno.

It just would’ve been more exciting to see the team struggle more before Mark came back. But at the same time, it doesn’t matter since the main event is Mechanical Eagle showing up anyway. So I guess that’s all a moot point.

It also would’ve been fun to see Mark and Jamie experience more emotional damage too lolol But now they’re free to be together, so who cares anymore lol Back to Eva starting trouble I guess. Eek!

Voltes V: Legacy Episode 62 is supposed to be available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
However, they’ve decided not to upload even split-part episodes so as to force people to watch live on TV or even the livestream since the ratings have been a bit lower than previous.

The episode is available to view via the Kapuso Stream livestream on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn7oxiIE2Hs
Except for in the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the USA. But if you have a VPN, then that should be no problem. =)
Though GMA also sometimes deletes/privates the livestream later.

I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
