Recap: Voltes V: Legacy, Episode 70 – Letter from Robinson
Oslak taunts Draco and they have a swordfight in the lab. Zandra yells at them to stop. Oslak leaves and she tries to calm Draco down, saying he should not let Oslak get to him. Anyway, Zandra wants to see Draco’s latest creation. He shows her the microbio that he’s developed that will help them uncover the secrets of Voltes V.
Meanwhile, Jamie returns to an empty home and cries as she flashes back to the last few episodes. Big Bert comes to visit, but she wants to be alone. He says he just wanted to comfort her since he knows what it is like to lose parents. But Jamie says it’s different because it’s her fault Papa Robinson died. If she hadn’t put the ring on, none of this would’ve happened.
Big Bert drops the bomb that Papa Robinson was actually terminally ill. He hands Jamie a letter that Papa Robinson asked him to give her if he didn’t survive the upcoming surgery for advanced stomach cancer.
Big Bert explains that Papa Robinson had asked him not to tell her. That’s why Papa Robinson wrote this letter for her. Big Bert leaves Jamie to read it.
In the letter, Papa Robinson says he will always be there with her, no matter what. So she should not be sad and instead remember all their happy memories and all he’s taught her. He says that she can always see him when she looks in the mirror as she is the embodiment of him.
Later, Steve is out in a rover when a flying saucer suddenly begins attacking him. Draco drops down with some Boazan forces and grabs Steve’s gun to shoot at him. But of course bullets don’t tabla him.
Draco asks if Steve is Boazanian and throws the microbio at his face. But nothing happens, proving his suspicions.
Draco grabs Steve by the neck, intending to kill him. But the rescue team, led by Mark, arrives and drives Draco away. Steve punches Mark in the face, saying he thought he was a kalaban. Mark says even if he is bwisit to Steve, he’s not a traitor. Steve thanks Mark for coming.
Back at the castillo, Zardoz scolds Draco for being such an embarrassment and a homsak. But Draco says Steve Armstrong is not just any ol’ human and tells him about the bullet not tablaing him. Draco suggests Steve is Boazanian.
Episode Thoughts
Well, I’d say this was a needed breather episode after the supposedly big moment of Papa Commander Supreme General Robinson’s death yesterday. Nice moments with Jamie and Big Bert.
Aha! That’s why Big Bert was at the Robinson mansion eating steak. This might be one of the few times the show has actually planted seeds or foreshadowed something lolol But also good that neither Steve nor Mark were the ones to directly comfort Jamie too. I think it’s better they did not include scenes of the two of them with Jamie as it would really just ruin the overall feeling and moment. Big Bert and Jamie’s scenes were much better.
But they definitely rushed Draco’s microbio plot. Like, let it linger a bit at least. Especially since it leads to Zardoz realizing he has brothers running around on Erthu.
Finally, I don’t believe Steve thought Mark was a kalaban. He really just wanted to punch him. PK douchebag lol
Overall, an okay episode that works well with what’s happened this week.
Voltes V: Legacy Episode 70 is available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
Mainly because I’m posting this late enough for them to actually upload the episode 24 hours later lolol
I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
