Voltes V Legacy Episode 55 Recap

Zuhl uses Zoldier’s mangled parts to rebuild and upgrade the Beastfighter as the Voltes team, minus Mark, get close. A soldier tells Zuhl about their approach and the possibility of them tracking a signal from Hrothgar. Zuhl orders his peoples to raise the apparatus energy in order to block the signal.

Dr. Hook tells them to come back to CBF, especially if this means the enemy knows why they are there now. But the Armstrong Bros are defiant and continue on. Mark decides to hurry and follow after them in order to protect Jamie from any harm.

Voltes V Legacy Episode 55 Recap

Dr. Hook tries contacting the team, but they have blocked the communication lines. He calls them stubborn and Commander General Robinson says not to curse them (that wasn’t a curse?) and just give them the space to be who they are.

Zuhl orders the release of the Beastfighter. Mark arrives and Jamie is happy to see him. “Matitiis ba naman kita?” Mark says. Steve is annoyed.

Anyway, they Volt In and have to face off against this tikbalang-looking Beastfighter. They massively struggle and Zardoz, Zandra and Draco are shocked to see what is happening, not knowing how. Zardoz orders them to get Zuhl back as soon as possible as his doubts about him continue to grow.

Zoldier is about to finish off Voltes V, but the Voltes team magically break free of its hold and they whip out the Laser Sword. It is Zoldier who is finished instead.

Voltes V Legacy Episode 55 Recap

Zuhl gets dragged back to the ocean base. Zardoz scolds him for moving without his command, resulting in another embarrassment for the Emperor. Zuhl is on his knees, begging for mercy. But he gets chained down and Draco tortures him with lasers. Zuhl tries to explain that he only did this to save Zardoz from the Emperor. After seeing the Emperor threaten Zardoz, Zuhl says he just wanted to protect Zardoz from further abuse and embarrassment. So he took things into his own hands.

Zuhl says he is grateful to Zardoz for accepting him in his team and apologizes for being a palpak once again. Zandra and Draco don’t believe him, but Zuhl says he accepts his fate.

Only, when Draco is about to chop his head off, Zuhl lets out a last-minute protest until Zardoz orders Draco to instead bring Zuhl close to him. Zardoz says Zuhl will die the next time he makes moves on his own.

After they leave, Zuhl vows not to let how they’ve treated him stand. Especially when he has Hrothgar as an ace up his sleeve.

Episode Thoughts

The most interesting parts of the episode were definitely the end with the Boazanian Crew. That was probably the most fun they’ve been since the start of the series. Seeing all the different dynamics between them at play was great. And I honestly would rather see more of that than whatever latest kayabangan the Voltes team exhibits against their superiors and each other! lol

Seriously though. Kunsentidor si Commander General Robinson! Grabe. No wonder Earth is repeatedly under attack when you have him as the supreme commander lolol So soft! They really need Dr. Hook. But not the soft Dr. Hook either. The original one we first met. lol

Hahaha at simpMark! Bro! You need to tone it down a little bit! Magpakipot ka naman konti. Lol But seeing Steve annoyed is worth it though. So actually you can keep doing anything that results in that Mark! Hehe. #AsarTalo!

Were the Armstrong Bros just as annoying in the anime? Or is it because these are real-life people and not animation that they seem more annoying lol

Well, overall, it was a solid episode. Thanks mostly to the Skull Crew.

Voltes V: Legacy Episode 55 is available on GMA Network’s official YouTube channel:
However, it is restricted to the Philippines only. Hopefully it will be made available worldwide soon!

I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
