Power Rangers Dino Fury Episode 24 Recap

At Area 62, Wreckmate appears, perfectly fine. He and Slyther clash, but Void Knight tells them to fight the Rangers instead. Wreckmate proposes a contest to see who can kill the most Rangers. Slyther likes that and even has a new potion to supercharge his powers for a few minutes. Wreckmate takes the potion and drinks it himself. Slyther says he doesn’t need the potion to kill more Rangers anyway and is determined to show them all.

The Rangers gift Aiyon a new motorcycle and gift Zayto Dinochucks. Solon warns Zayto not to use the chucks inside. While the others go check on the cake, Aiyon decides to do just that and ends up damaging a storage cabinet full of Solon’s spare parts as well as the toolbox.

As the Rangers are nursing their wounds back at the command chamber, Solon attempts to figure out what’s wrong with Dinochucks. But they explode instead and send her flying back. She thinks she can build new ones, but discovers her storage cabinet has been burned. Aiyon admits that this is all his fault.

Zayto is not having any of Aiyon’s flippant attitude and Aiyon apologizes.

Zayto suggests they watch some old Power Rangers seasons on YouTube to see if they can copy and rebuild some old weapons with whatever parts they have left.

Zayto thinks a cycle can do the trick and Aiyon offers up his new motorcycle for them to build from.

Episode Thoughts

A bit of a filler-type episode with this one, mostly to promote the new toy. But it was much more enjoyable than the “premiere” at least. A simple plot, but done well.

The two Rafkonians take center stage here and it was nice to have a little bit of “culture” to sort of add to their characters. It allowed for the lesson of the week to play out in a natural way without feeling preachy. (Basically, Listen to the adults. lol) But it fit with what we know of Aiyon and Zayto’s personalities.

Also, any reason to have more Solon is great. So seeing her building cycles (off-screen, obviously) is as good a reason as any.

Meh to the old clips which I assume is a nod to the older fans and their rose-colored glasses. Whatever.

Wreckmate popping back up is again part of what I mentioned after the “premiere” where the show just has to basically undo some of the supposed climactic moments from the first half of the season in order to continue on with this second half. That includes reviving generals and the big bad of course. It feels a bit contrived, but again, unavoidable with the two year format. When in the past, we’d just have generals all 32/40-episode season long.

Half of the episode was morphed action scenes and that’s alright. Especially for a filler episode like this. But overall, enjoyable. Especially after the flat “premiere.”
