Sayo left her Changer before going to the mountain for an emergency rescue as it was undergoing maintenance. Mabushina is worried because there is a Crystalian legend of a goddess causing disaster after being jealous of a slender-legged woman climbing the mountain. Juuru doesn’t think there’s anything to worry about.
But Dr. Sayo has already found herself stranded with a sprained ankle and no cell service. The medical helicopter had been at capacity and she offered to stay behind instead of an EMT who said he would hike down himself. Sayo had forgotten she left her Changer back at the coconut tree.
As she sits by the creek, a mysterious young man approaches her, saying she’s cute. He introduces himself as Takamichi and says he hopes to take her out on a date if they ever run into each other back in town. He bids her goodbye, but she is taken aback that he would just leave.
Takamichi rubs what he calls a wonder medicine cream on her ankle and says she will be able to walk down on her own in a few hours. He bids farewell again, but she asks if he can give her a hand.
Takamichi says he can’t as he’s on a tight schedule. Plus, he doesn’t want to get on that mountain goddess’ bad side thanks to the slender legged woman.
Sayo begs him and says she’ll do anything. Takamichi perks up and asks if she agrees to a mamalina funifuny in exchange for helping her. Though unsure what that is, Sayo agrees to it anyway.
Takamichi carries Sayo on his back using an attached chair, leaving his bag behind. He says it’s alright since his stuff will come whenever he calls. Sayo sees he doesn’t have a problem carrying him and he says he’s just confident in his strength.
Takamichi spins an interesting looking device on his wrist, activating a search feature that can detect treasure. He has a notebook with clues and enjoys searching for treasure.
Back in town, Carantula sends Meteorite Jamen to the CARAT observatory and the four Kiramagers deploy. They quickly henshin, but the Jamen sends meteorites to rain down on them.
Takamichi thinks they’ve reached a dead end. Sayo thinks she may have a clue and asks to see the notebook. Switching position, Sayo sees the ripped page matches the shape of the cliff in front of them. They head toward it and into a cave. Takamichi’s device detects something under the rocks and he calls for Shiny Breaker.
Something from his backpack comes soaring through the forest and into his hands. He uses the drill-like contraption to break through the rock.
Looking at the device on Takamichi’s wrist, Sayo asks who in the world he is. But just then, he is able to uncover what looks like a Kiramai Stone. Takamichi immediately recognizes what it is and he runs as the Stone bursts through.
Takamichi explains that it is a Monstone. Unlike Kiramai Stones, it has no consciousness and they try to invade your body.
The Monstone turns and heads toward the city. Takamichi asks Sayo to wait for him here as he uses Shiny Breaker to fly after the Monstone.
The Monstone decides to invade the Meteorite Jamen’s body and it now allows him to shoot fire from his head.
Helico is able to sense where Sayo is now and she, Mabushina and Jetter hurry over to find her. Sayo tells them they need to help someone, so Helico and Jetter combine to SkyMage to take them.
Takamichi arrives just as Meteorite Jamen is about to finish off the others. Muryou and Fire are shocked to see this new arrival.
Takamichi introduces himself as the wondrous defender of earth… Crystalia Takamichi. The other are taken aback.
Takamichi uses his Changer to henshin to Kiramai Silver.
Takamichi has no problem against the Bechats that Meteorite Jamen summons. SkyMage drops off Sayo and Mabushina. The princess is particularly shocked to see this new Kiramager.
Takamichi turns his attention to Meteorite Jamen and makes quick work of him with a Shining Beam Attack.
The Kiramagers meet Takamichi. Sayo is surprised to find her ankle is completely healed. Takamichi reminds her of her promise to him.
He leans over to kiss her on the cheek and bends down to wait for her to do the same. That’s what mamalina funifuny is, after all.
Sayo doesn’t back down from her promise and she kisses him.
The others scream.
Takamichi happily thanks her.
Mabushina stomps over, angry at… her brother. Takamichi opens his arms for a big hug to his little sister. But Mabushina slaps him across the face and demands to know just where he’s been. Especially during the Yodon Invasion, the fall of Crystalia and the murder of their father.
Before Takamichi can say anything, Mabushina says all of it is his fault.
Episode Thoughts
Definitely a much better episode than last week. That was a pretty great intro for Takamichi. Though I was spoiled about him being Mabushina’s brother, he nonetheless made a great first impression.
He seems like a fun, nice guy. And the interesting tension between him and Mabushina will be great to watch. Mabushina has been one of the best written characters. So I have high hopes for how the Crystalia siblings’ story will play out. The idea that he essentially left his family behind and wasn’t even there when their father was murdered (by their uncle!) is some pretty dramatic stuff.
Muryou’s reaction to seeing him is also interesting of course. But there’s definitely potential for great story here. And having such a deep, dramatic story for the new 6th and having that established connection already is a positive.
Sayo being the first Kiramager Takamichi interacts with (and with some romantic overtones too!) was a good choice. They played off each other well and it helped build up his character in a positive way that I don’t think could’ve been done with any of the other Kiramagers. Even Juuru.
The episode was exciting. Kohei Shoji made an impactful debut as Takamichi. Overall, this is the fun Kiramager I want to see!
