Recap: Voltes V: Legacy ,Episode 27 – Spy Unveiled

Zardoz puts his sword back in its sheath and reaches his hand out to Zandra to help her back up. Zardoz again says Uncle Zambojil would never betray him and believes Zander has somehow influenced him. Zardoz asks Zandra to promise him that they will win and ensure that Zander will not succeed in his plan to oust him. Regarding Zuhl, Zardoz refuses to have him killed and instead just be careful around him.

Over at CBF, the Voltes team gives Judy a tour. Judy wants to check out what’s behind the two doors, but Steve reminds her that there are areas of the base that are off limits. Mark suggests they visit Dr. Smith in his office. Big Bert worries since Dr. Smith had forbidden him from bringing Judy here. But Little Jon unwittingly saves him by saying Dr. Smith is busy.

Steve instead suggests they go eat, but Judy asks if she can use the CR first. Jamie offers to accompany her, but she says she can go alone. After Judy leaves, the others tease Big Bert.

Judy heads outside so she can teleport back to the Skull. She meets privately with Zardoz to show him what she’s recorded of the base so far. She apologizes for not getting into where Voltes V is kept, but she knows where it is. Zardoz asks her to find out who pilots Voltes V instead.

Judy returns to the base and is surprised by Big Bert. She says she just wanted selfies on the beautiful grounds. As they take a selfie together, CBF forces hurry over as there was a signal anomaly detected in this area. But Big Bert says they haven’t seen anything suspicious.

They return to the others to enjoy some snacks. The boys tease Little Jon and he decides to just leave as he has to work on something with Octo-1 anyway. He will be entering a toy ship sailing contest.

Judy asks them if she could meet the Voltes V pilots. The four Voltesers awkwardly look at each other until they are saved by Commander Robinson. He is a bit surprised by seeing Judy here and says she must unfortunately leave now as Big Bert and friends must return to their duties.

Big Bert says he will escort Judy back to the main entrance, but Commander Robinson says they will take care of that.

The Voltes team head out to take on some flying saucers. Little Jon asks Octo-1 to be on the lookout for Boazanians.

As they head back, Mark privately calls Jamie to ask to meet with him at the beach tonight.

Later, Mark asks Jamie if she and Steve are together. Jamie laughs at the question and says he is not her boyfriend. She asks why he’s asking anyway. Mark says Jamie and Steve always argue about Eva so he was wondering what the real score is.

Jamie explains that she and Steve are really just childhood friends and more importantly, teammates. “Parang tayo.”

Jamie asks if he is satisfied with her answer. Yes, of course, Mark answers. Jamie leaves and Mark smiles.

Back on the Skull, Zuhl is surprised to see everyone else meeting as they look at Judy’s footage. Zardoz asks to speak privately with Zuhl and asks if he is truly loyal to him like Zandra and Draco are. Zuhl says of course and Zardoz reminds him what he does to traitors.

Later, Zardoz and Zandra are in bed together. Zardoz wakes Zandra with his kisses and tells her about the wonderful dream he just had. He was able to lead an attack on rebels and was able to kill them all one by one while Emperor Zambojil watched.

Zandra is sure Zardoz will be successful and become the Emperor. But Zandra’s happy thoughts are pierced by Zardoz again mentioning his spy.

Speaking of, Big Bert surprises Judy at her home. He has brought some food for them to enjoy together. But he points out she still has her hair wrapped in a towel. She excuses herself. And while she’s gone, she gets a call from Zardoz. Big Bert listens to the communicator, but can’t understand the foreign language of course.

Episode Thoughts

They always habol a Mark-Jamie moment at the end of episodes. And that’s very clever on their part because no matter what the rest of the episode is about, I don’t care because I will end up leaving the episode with a smile on my face lololol

We love our awkward king Mark! Keep your head up bro! Jamie will come around soon hehe

Anyway, this episode was definitely more about Judy and her infiltration of CBF. They’re doing a good job to setting up the eventual painful moment that Big Bert, especially, learns of her deceit. But also setting up the eventual conflict that this will cause within the team and the camp.

I’m kind of meh with going as far as Big Bert wanting to quit for her next episode. But we’ll see how that plays out.

I was kind of disappointed we didn’t see Commander Robinson scold the team a little for welcoming an outsider to camp when they’re on heightened alert. And also the cut to them fighting flying saucers was a bit too abrupt. So I thought they were training only until it was clear they were actually engaging real saucers.

The Skull scenes were much better this episode too. The clear conflict within Zardoz and Friends was better defined here. So that helps with their story moving forward.

Overall, an okay and solid episode elevated by a welcome scene with Jamie and Mark. Hehehehehehe.

I’ve seen people talk about how people worldwide should subscribe to GMA Pinoy TV in order to watch the series. I’d recommend that if you are interested in watching lots of Filipino programming. But if you only want to watch Voltes V: Legacy, I don’t think it’d be a good investment. Especially since you can’t watch the series on demand anyway. GMA Pinoy TV is a linear, premium TV channel on most cable and satellite systems.
