Another long drive sets up another close Leg as teams Race through Catalonia. Fine art, good food and celebrations make for tense competition and a Pit Stop shocker.

The long drive from Andorra la Vella to Figueres in Spain set the tone for the Leg as MM & MJ and Jacob & Jerika arrive first. But the Intersected Sam and hisnew “Tito” Jojo are able to figure out the correct order the fastest. Christian & Sam and Elma & Jojo leave the museum just five minutes after the last Intersected pair Erika and Ben start the Road Block. The Intersected pair of Tom and Kakai, however, struggle with getting the hang of the puzzle and almost break two of the panels before finally getting the thumbs up.

Teams maintain their positions driving to Girona. But the beginning of a walking-heavy section of the Leg starts to challenge the teams as they shuffle placements through to the Double Road Block. Though emerging alliance Christian & Sam and Elma & Jojo maintain their leads, Tom & Antoinette and Kakai & Cai manage to make up some time and get themselves out from the back of the pack.

Ehra & Michelle and Ina & Erika decide to stick together on the way to Barcelona and are able to catch up to the leading teams who are now Christian & Sam and MM & MJ. All four teams decide to choose the Flamenco Detour. Christian & Sam and MM & MJ use their boy band experience to easily get the hang of the choreography. Ina & Erika are close behind as well. But the Gegants Detour proves to be a bit quicker, allowing the other teams to not be too far behind either.

While Christian & Sam and MM & MJ sprint toward the Pit Stop, Ina & Erika instinctively hop into their 2023 Kia Sportage to drive instead of walk, which the clue specifically says they must do. Wendell & Saviour, as they are finishing the Gegants Detour, spot Ina & Erika drive by and once they get the next clue, also hop into their 2023 Kia Sportage.

Ehra & Michelle are just around 10 minutes behind most of the other teams who have completed the Detour before them.

Ina & Erika arrive at the Mat first. But they are informed of their mistake and must now wait out a 50 minute penalty (30 minute mandatory penalty + 20 minute penalty for time gained by driving based on current Google Maps traffic conditions). Wendell & Saviour are the second team to arrive, but also incur the penalty.

Christian & Sam arrive at 2:30pm and though they initially accept their 3rd place arrival, they are overjoyed to officially be Team #1 after a dominant Leg. MM & MJ have to settle for 2nd. Tom & Antoinette, who had finished the Detour in 10th, arrive on the Mat next. But they too have driven and must also serve out their 50 minute penalty.

During that penalty time, Ehra & Michelle are able to move up to 3rd with Elma & Jojo, Jacob & Jerika, Miriam & Ardy, and Kakai & Cai also able to check-in. That pushes Ina & Erika all the way down to 8th. Ben & Mike arrive before Wendell & Saviour’s penalty time is over. And the father and son survive the Leg as Team #10.

It’s down to the last two teams. And with just two minutes left in Tom & Antoinette’s penalty, Sheryn & Mel come running to the Mat to officially check-in as Team #11. That means Tom & Antoinette are last and eliminated.
