Thursday Tunes, March 23, 2023 – Bobby and Kim Jae Hwan

Great releases from two of my favorite solo artists! Enjoy these tracks from Bobby and Kim Jae Hwan.

“Cherry Blossom” by Bobby

“Drowning” by Bobby

I was very excited hearing about Bobby making a comeback. But I was a bit sad finding out that it was only a single. Nevertheless, having two fresh new tracks from Bobby will always be a good thing. He has really been one of the more surprising artists for me. I never really listened to or followed iKON. But after I happened to listen to Bobby’s first solo album when it was first released, I instantly became a fan. And so far, I have loved every bit of music he has released since.

“Cherry Blossom” is a great rock-infused pop track. It is very reminiscent of some of my favorite songs of his and is an example of Bobby’s diverse style and versatility. And his unique voice perfectly expresses the song’s bittersweet lyrics.

“Drowning” is that other side of Bobby’s music style. The R&B track is a groovy and flirtatious track featuring SOLE (쏠). And you can’t help but want to move along with it.

With Bobby and his fellow iKON bandmates taking the next steps in their careers, a release like this single shows they are definitely not slowing down anytime soon.

“Spring Breeze” by Kim Jae Hwan

Kim Jae Hwan has really released some great music in his solo career. Though he is effortless with the soaring ballads, my favorite tracks from him have been his rock-infused pop tracks. His latest “Spring Breeze” is one such track. There is a mix of dreamy emotion and charismatic charm that Kim Jae Hwan always delivers. And it is another performance from him to enjoy and be captivated by.
