Catching up with some new tracks from ENHYPEN, Big Ocean, DKB, NTX and WAKER!
“XO (Only If You Say Yes)” by ENHYPEN
ENHYPEN’s latest title track “XO (Only If You Say Yes)” is definitely going to be a song I’ll be vibing to all year long. The synth-infused pop track has a sultry and dreamy melody with the group expressing the romantic lyrics with their always charismatic performance. The rest of the album Romance : Untold is another must-listen with my personal standouts “Moonstruck” and “Your Eyes Only”.
“Blow” by Big Ocean
Rookie group Big Ocean had a solid debut with their remake of H.O.T’s “Hope”. They make their first comeback with original song “Blow”. And it is a powerful and energetic track. An addictive chorus and synth-infused melody gives the group a great opportunity to showcase their talent and charisma. And the song’s lyrics express the group’s determination and passion for their performances. A great comeback to build upon their debut.
“Flirting X” by DKB
DKB’s “I Need Love” and “Told You” were two of my favorite songs last year. But I wasn’t much of a fan of their last release. “Flirting X” is a different story. It’s refreshing rock-infused sound is definitely a change of pace for DKB. But they deliver a charismatic and striking performance of the great track. The rest of the album Urban Ride has a nice mix of R&B, hip-hop and pop-dance tracks.
“Problematic” by NTX
Great to have NTX back with fresh music. And title track “Problematic” from the album Hold X is a solid hip-hop dance track. The group shows off their confident performance with a great swagger. And it also allows them to showcase their growth as artists as well. My favorite track from the album though is dreamy, midtempo pop-dance track “Ivy Booth”.
“Vanilla Choco Shake” by WAKER
I really enjoyed WAKER’s “Atlantis” earlier this year. It’s actually #23 on my mid-year favorites list. Their follow-up track “Vanilla Choco Shake” is a similarly bright and fun pop-dance track. It has a great energy and a catchy melody that will have you humming along all day. The rest of the album Sweet Tape has a nice mix of songs. My favorite track from the album might be “Call My Name”, a similarly sweet and bright song.
