Music Monday, May 16, 2022 Extra – Jeong Sewoon, Hwang Chi Yeul, Woosung, Kang Daniel

Check out these four new tracks from these talented soloists. Featuring Jeong Sewoon, Hwang Chi Yeul, Woosung, Kang Daniel.

“Roller Coaster” by Jeong Sewoon

Jeong Sewoon’s new album Where is my Garden! is filled with songs that fans have come to love from him. Title track “Roller Coaster” is a perfect late Spring/early Summer-vibe of a melody with Sewoon’s dreamy vocals delivering, as he always does. The other tracks on the album are just as great, with all six easily claiming a spot on your day driving playlists. “Pull Me Down,” which closes out the album, is an especially groovy track for that late afternoon drive.

“Why” by Hwang Chi Yeul

Hwang Chi Yeul and his powerful, husky voice is back with new album By My Side. The title track “Why” is an emotional, bittersweet track that has him singing of the regrets from a past relationship. The rest of the great album includes the more upbeat “Falling in Love,” ballad “Once Again,” groovy “Eyes on Me” and rock-infused “Love Is…”

“Phase Me” by Woosung

Woosung has released some eye-catching and ear-catching solo tracks so far. And “Phase Me” is another one. I will say that I absolutely love the verses and pre-chorus much more than the chorus which kind of feels a bit underwhelming considering the strong, epic feel of the rest of the song. Overall, I think the song very much captures who Woosung is as a solo artist, nonetheless.

“Ready to Ride” by Kang Daniel

Ahead of his upcoming album release, Kang Daniel released a Universe exclusive single “Ready to Ride.” The hip-hop/R&B track is a nice mellow vibe. Accompanied by a futuristic MV, the song is a great moodmaker that plays to Kang Daniel’s strengths with vocals and performance. Definitely ups the anticipation for the new album this week.
