Another song of the year candidate emerges! And more great comebacks from VERIVERY, CRAVITY, HIGHLIGHT and D-CRUNCH
“O” by VERIVERY
WHAT IN THE WORLD? What was this?!
Fresh off of their #41 placement on my Top 70 Favorite Songs of 2021 with “Trigger,” VERIVERY returns with this jaw-dropping new track. I had no idea what to expect from the song when I first went in to the MV of “O.” But it definitely was not this!
I absolutely love it. Within the first few seconds of the song, I was already thinking to myself, “Woah, what is this song?!” I started to get a feeling what it might end up sounding like and was hoping so much that it would pan out the way I was envisioning. And it did. This smooth, dreamy R&B track is definitely not the VERIVERY one might expect. But it is very much the natural next step forward for a group that has grown with every release since debut. A candidate for my favorite song of 2022? Absolutely! I am still in awe.
“Adrenaline” by CRAVITY
Just like the title says, CRAVITY’s latest comeback is definitely a big shot of “Adrenaline.” The groovy and energetic dance track is a great song that is effortlessly brought to life by a charismatic and youthful performance from the group.
“Daydream” by HIGHLIGHT
I loved “Not the End” by HIGHLIGHT last year. A rousing comeback for the full group. And they return with another good one in “Daydream.” The title track for their first full length album as HIGHLIGHT, “Daydream” is a dreamy midtempo pop dance track that fits perfectly with the emotional and bittersweet lyrics of longing.
“Addiction” by D-CRUNCH
D-CRUNCH returns with their latest single album “Addiction” and its title track of the same name. This album comes after the departure of member Minhyuk and with the absence of Dylan who is on hiatus as he focuses on his physical and mental health. “Addiction” is a dramatic EDM dance track that has the members showing off their talent and charisma as they bring to life the lyrics about speeding quickly toward the objects of their affection. It is a strong track and even stronger performance from the group.
