Gai takes this moment to remind Aruto that a ZAIA win ends the competition with his ultimate victory.
Izu gets information on the location of the Raider and Aruto hurries over to take care of it. In the fog of the finisher, Aruto loses sight of the human host of the Raider. But he does find the human’s ZAIASpec which he picks up.
Meanwhile inside the burning building, 119 Nosuke analyzes the situation and finds VP Jun tachi, but also that there is no safe path for him and Captain Homura to reach them. Captain Homura concludes the same.
Shester is already beginning to malfunction due to the heat and smoke inside the building.
Isamu comes running to the scene and grabs Yua so they can hurry in to help save the trapped victims. Gai reminds him that she is no longer a member of A.I.M.S.
Isamu runs over to dump a bucket of water on himself, grabs Yua again and they run inside.
The situation grows more dire as the building is in danger of total collapse.
SVP Sanzo is losing hope, but VP Jun says they should believe in 119 Nosuke.
Captain Homura reports to his team and says they will have to pull back. But 119 Nosuke says he will take care of it. As he is a Humagear, he cannot die from smoke inhalation. Captain Homura warns that 119 Nosuke won’t be able to survive the heat, however.
119 Nosuke reminds Captain Homura that it was he that taught him the importance of human lives.
Captain Homura says a firefighter has a duty to protect their own life as well. But 119 Nosuke says saving lives is his responsibility as a firefighter.
119 Nosuke uses all his superhuman strength to clear a path through the collapsed, burning hallway.
119 Nosuke tells Captain Homura to go on without him.
Isamu and Yua arrive and they accompany Captain Homura as they rush through. The rest of Captain Homura’s team are able to enter the building and they all bring VP Jun, SVP Sanzo and Shester out to safety.
Gai smiles, sure of his victory.
Aruto arrives and hands Isamu the ZAIASpec he picked up. He approaches Captain Homura and thanks him for saving everyone. But Aruto realizes 119 Nosuke is nowhere to be found.
Aruto rushes inside the building and Yua follows.
Aruto finds 119 Nosuke’s lifeless body still holding up the huge slab.
The slab falls off of 119 Nosuke’s body and Aruto approaches to carry him out.
Yua says he could’ve just restored 119 Nosuke’s data. but Aruto says he can’t just leave one of his employees after having worked so hard for him today.
Later, Gai proclaims victory. But Captain Homura has something to say.
Captain Homura says 119 Nosuke was the real winner of this round since they wouldn’t have been able to save those lives without him. He admits that he did not trust Humagears at first. But 119 Nosuke understood the importance of saving a life.
119 Nosuke was a real firefighter. Captain Homura salutes him and Aruto and Izu bow with respect.
Yua appears touched by the gesture and agrees with Captain Homura’s opinion.
Gai tells Yua that he did not ask for her opinion.
Isamu arrives and reveals the Raider was ZAIA development department employee Kyogoku Daiki. Kyogoku just wanted to do something to help his dear president to ensure ZAIA’s victory. That is why he took a Raidriser from the company to do that.
Izu puts everything together. The Raidriser was developed and manufactured by ZAIA.
Gai says none of them understand the importance of the Raidriser in the public being able to counter dangerous Humagears. Aruto points out that the Raidriser has been used for evil, but Gai says there is no proof of that.
Isamu says the ZAIASpec is proof. But Gai would like to take the Specs back.
Isamu and Gai both henshin and they battle.
Gai comes out victorious and he steps on the ZAIASpec to destroy it, thus destroying any evidence and maintaining his company’s positive image, as is the responsibility of any president.
Jin walks in and says this is the perfect example of humans being truly full of malice and hate. And they are this way on their own even without MetsubouJinrai.net.
Jin henshins and says he is taking back Horobi’s key. He and Gai proceed to battle. And while they deliver powerful counterattacks at each other, Jin is still able to knock Horobi’s Key off of Gai’s body, retrieving it for his dad.
Before leaving, Jin says he will not let the humans do what they want and that he will free the Humagears.
Gai dehenshins and says because of his employee’s misjudgment, he will allow this win for Hiden.
Gai proposes now that they go to a public vote to determine whether the human-Humagear partnership can truly work.
Outside, Jin hands Horobi his Key back and says bye before leaving.
A news report discusses the Japanese government’s plan to redevelop Daybreak with Hiden. But the final decision will rest with the voting public.
This was definitely a very full episode and a lot of great things about it.
First off, it was a wonderful episode to illustrate the possibilities of human-Humagear partnership. It really was emotional to see 119 Nosuke sacrifice his “life” to save the victims. The scenes of 119 Nosuke’s clothes catching of fire as he walks through the burning hallway and then his human skin slowing burning and melting off his mechanical body! Very jarring, but in a powerful way.
Imagine that shot of 119 Nosuke’s lifeless shell of a body still holding up the debris as if he was frozen in time after getting engulfed in a nuclear bomb! Very sad, emotional stuff.
It really helps to drive home the point of the struggle between the humans and Humagears as different, but perhaps equal and helpful to each other when working in harmony.
Then we contrast that hope and positivity with Mr. Amatsu Gai’s sinister, evil grin and smirk. What an absolute asshole! Lol Just incredible how horrible he really is and with really nothing yet to explain why he is the way he is.
Still, I find myself not hating him though which is actually very disconcerting for me. lol But as they’ve done an excellent job at painting him this way, I hope they have an equally great fleshing out of his backstory.
It was awesome to see Yua’s doubts about her boss a little more directly this episode. Especially as she sided with Captain Homura and then her getting dragged by Isamu, but having wanted to help from the beginning anyway.
Speaking of, you can count on Isamu to do the right thing. So it was great to see him be noble and try to be heroic by running in. Though it was a little funny to see him dousing himself with water, but not Yua lol
Finally, Jin continues to be boss even in just very short scenes. It really is very interesting and fun to see the huge dynamic shift between him and Horobi. I was really disappointed though that Jin did not hand Gai his ass on a silver platter. I really wanted to see that happen lol!
Overall, a very full and very strong episode.
