Kureon wonders what he’s going to do now that Gachireus is gone. But Waizuru pops up and says he has a great plan.
Canalo roams the streets looking for a wife, but a little boy, Kentaro, approaches him for a favor. Canalo says he only grants favors for girls, but he’ll give him a chance. Kentaro wants to know how to find a rainbow so Canalo asks Mosa Rex.
Before Mosa Rex can reply, a beautiful young woman, Yuki, approaches and proceeds to explain the science. Canalo seems to have fallen in love.
They head to the ocean where Canalo asks Mosa Rex to jump out of the water so the light can be refracted and a rainbow can appear. But Yuki shoves both Canalo and Kentaro to the ground and a Minosaur traps Mosa Rex in a net.
Yuki takes her clothes off to reveal it was only Waizuru in disguise and this was all part of his plan. Waizuru whisks Mosa Rex away and explains that he will hypnotize Mosa Rex to become his obedient lackey. Kureon, meanwhile, has to chase the missing Minosaur around.
Canalo heads to Chez Tatsui to tell the others what’s happened. Melto points out Waizuru’s hypnotic power, but Canalo is sure Mosa Rex is strong willed enough to overcome it. Papa Naohisa says the strongest willed are the most easily hypnotized.
Ui hurries in with reports of a Minosaur in Mitama Town.
It just so happens Towa and Bamba are hanging out in Mitama Town. Towa mentions that it’s been decades since they’ve last been here.
Just then, they see two Drunns carrying buckets of fish nearby. Then they hear the Minosaur attacking the beachgoers. Towa and Bamba both morph and take the Minosaur on, but it is able to get away.
The others meet Towa and Bamba at Mitama Hospital where the people affected by the Minosaur’s attacks are being taken to.
Canalo spots Kentaro and they follow him to the rooftop of the hospital. Kentaro explains that his teacher, Emiko-sensei, is a patient here. He says she has wanted to see a rainbow, but her condition is getting worse. That’s why Kentaro wanted to find a rainbow to show her.
Kentaro shows them a photo of Emiko-sensei (which Canalo immediately falls in love with) and Towa remembers the Minosaur mumbling about a rainbow earlier. Canalo is eager to defeat the Minosaur, but Bamba realizes he might know where Mosa Rex is being held.
Back at Chez Tatsui, Papa Naohisa is rummaging through the cabinets. He tells Ui that Mitama Town sounds very familar.
Bamba and Canalo arrive at the lake Mosa Rex is being held at. But Waizuru says it’s too late as Mosa Rex is now under his control. Mosa Rex does not recognize Canalo and sends both him and Bamba flying.
Meanwhile, Kureon finds the Minosaur digging in the sand. But the Ryusoulgers also find them. They morph and Tyramigo arrives to help. But the Minosaur buries them in sand.
Canalo and Bamba are in the water. But Mosa Rex is able to communicate with Canalo. Bamba also listens in on their conversation as Mosa Rex says it was all just an act and that of course hypnotism would never come in between the bond that they have. Mosa Rex says they must remove the net.
Bamba appears touched by Canalo and Mosa Rex’s bond and says he will take care of the net.
Melto tries washing the sand away from Koh, Asuna and Tyramigo using mist. But it only makes the sand harden.
Kentaro is with his Emiko-sensei as she has lost consciousness. Her life energy reaches the Minosaur who is now able to embiggen. The four jump into Kishiryu-Oh Tigerlance, but the sand in Tyramigo’s body prevents them from moving fluidly. That allows the Minosaur to trap them in its net.
Canalo arrives and takes on Waizuru which allows Bamba to arrive with DimeVolcano who burns the net off of Mosa Rex. When the smoke clears, Mosa Rex and DimeVolcano realize they are face to face. They are brothers!
Mosa Rex and DimeVolcano share a wonderful reunion and they combine into SpinoThunder!
Bamba, Canalo, Mosa Rex and DimeVolcano hurry over to help the others. SpinoThunder burns the net off of KishiryuOh and Bamba showers them to put out the fire.
The Minosaur disappears, but SpinoThunder blows fire to draw it out of hiding. The Ryusoulgers finish off the Minosaur with a Tiger Sonic Lancer.
Back at the hospital, Kentaro is happy his teacher is better. But she still was not able to see a rainbow.
Bamba takes a rainbow-colored shell out of his pocket and heads downstairs.
Papa Naohisa shows Ui the rainbow moonbow shells which Mitama Town is known for. They are very rare these days. But they were once a famous charm in which a couple who each have one will stay together forever.
Ui asks her father who he gave a shell too, but he refuses to say.
At the hospital, Bamba gives his shell to Emiko-sensei. She says someone once gave her a shell like this, but that someone had to leave town on an important mission.
Emiko-sensei says that man looked just like Bamba. Except the man she knew had much lonelier eyes than him.
The others smile seeing Bamba smile while telling the story.
This was pretty good episode. I think the main idea from the episode was showing a little bit more about how the Ryusoul Tribe lives. That is, like the prime minister in the earlier episode, we see Bamba also had a life outside of the forest. But of course, being someone who doesn’t age normally, he had to leave.
Definitely a nice little peek at Bamba’s backstory. I mean, we still aren’t too sure why Towa and Bamba just randomly pop up in the most random places at the most random times. Lol
But Ms. Emiko noticing that Bamba is not as lonely today as he was when they were together is a good way to point to the team coming together. Also Bamba warming up to the others too and his own personality. That Bamba isn’t cold all the time, but did have someone he loved like that.
The other episode, it seemed like they were making the point that there was still a little bit of distance between Koh/Melto/Asuna and Towa/Bamba. And obviously with the brothers never hanging out at Chez Tatsui, it’s been almost like an all-business-type of relationship so far. Even if they do trust each other.
Next week though, we see Bamba and Canalo are facing off for whatever reason. So we’ll see what that’s all about.
But in the future, it would be nice to learn more about each of the Ryusoulgers’ life before we first them. In that way, it can help with the world building too since the endgame for the season is still pretty iffy.
Overall, it was a solid episode.
