Teams get the opportunity to experience Catalonia’s vibrant culture. But will challenging tasks cause early top contenders to falter and trailing teams to finally get a chance to move up the ranks?
Teams begin the Leg in front of the iconic La Sagrada Familia, but they don’t have much time to soak in the view as they must hurry and drive to Saltamos Village and the surprise skydiving task. Teams go up in the plane in groups of three, maintaining their positions so far.
But teams’ arrival in Valls is just the start of the challenging tasks they will face today. Both sides of the Detour offer up unique challenges which some teams are able to navigate better than others.
Teams remain within an hour of each other as they make the drive to Terrassa and the Castell task. Teams struggle mightily with figuring out how to properly and safely build their towers. Ina & Erika, who arrived in 6th, are the first to get the thumbs up and are able to leave first. Jacob & Jerika and Miriam & Ardy move up a few spots as they finish close behind. MM & MK. Who had arrived first, struggle the most and depart the stadium in 7th. Sheryn & Mel, Wendell & Saviour and Ben & Mike, however, remain in the back of the pack.
The Road Block shuffles the teams even more as the singers use their talents to get through the task the fastest. After making up some time on the drive to Montserrat, MM & MJ move back to the top after MM aces the Road Block. Christian & Sam are close behind.
It is a footrace to the Mat between the two teams and it is MM & MJ who finally score their first Leg win with Christian & Sam settling for 2nd.
Crystal Voice of Asia Sheryn zooms her and Mel up to 3rd departing the Road Block and check-in at the Mat in 3rd as well, their highest placement yet. Kakai’s powerful voice also helps her and Cai get out of the Road Block in 4th after having arrived in 8th. But Jacob & Jerika just slip past them to claim 4th at the Pit Stop with Kakai & Cai taking 5th.
Ehra & Michelle and Ina & Erika finish the Leg as Teams 6 and 7, respectively. Miriam & Ardy and Elma & Jojo get through the Road Block and head to the Mat in 8th and 9th, respectively.
It’s down to Wendell & Saviour and Ben & Mike. And when the father and son realize it’s a Race to avoid elimination, they decide to use their Fast Forward Flip which gets them directly to St. Michael’s Cross to check-in as Team #10. That means basketball brothers Ben & Mike are last and sadly eliminated.
