Some of my favorite biases in Korean music decided to all make comebacks this past week. And I’m definitely not complaining! Enjoy these new releases from some of my favorites: Onew, Henry Lau and Nicole Jung!
“Real Love Still Exists” by Henry Lau feat. Yuna
Henry Lau is back with a beautiful ballad in “Real Love Still Exists.” The collaboration with singer Yuna is a dreamy and melancholic track with the two vocalists well-suited to bring the emotional lyrics to life in harmony.
“O (Circle)” by Onew
Onew has always been one of my favorite vocalists in K-pop and he finally releases his first full-length solo album Circle. Title track “O (Circle)” is very much the kind of song that perfectly highlights Onew’s unique flavor and voice. The dreamy track is an emotionally affecting midtempo track with pop and R&B vibes and a soulful touch brought to life by Onew’s always powerful vocals. The rest of the album is a mix of similarly mellow ballads and some funky midtempo R&B tracks later in the album as well.
“Mysterious” by Nicole
After having successfully completed KARA’s special anniversary comeback, Nicole Jung releases her latest solo single “Mysterious.” The funky pop dance track has retro 80s touches with its synth-infused sound and catchy melody. Nicole’s charismatic performance allows for the playful and sensual lyrics to stand out. And it is of course a song that allows Nicole to show off her versatile talents as well.
