Leg 22.05 – “We need this penalty!”

It’s time for teams to hop back onto the special chartered Cebu Pacific A330neo flight as they head to their next destination: Copenhagen, Denmark!

Teams will start the Leg in front of the Monument Hans Christian Anderson in Copenhagen.

The first clue tells teams to make their way on foot to Rosenborg Castle where they will find a Double Road Block: Real or Fake.

Rosenborg Castle houses the Danish Crown Jewels. For this Double Road Block, teams will have to search for an exact replica of a crown resembling the Danish Crown Regalia. However, each team will choose a specific crown, each with their own unique details. Using a provided Samsung Galaxy S22 to communicate, the “Real” team member will be inside the castle with access to their crown. They must describe the crown to their “Fake” teammate in order for them to find the replica hidden in the castle’s gardens outside. When teams find the correct crown, they will get the next clue.

That clue directs teams to make their way on foot to the Rundetarn. Teams must head up to the top and then search below for their next clue. What teams must figure out is that they are looking for 2023 Kia Sportages parked in the area with a Race flag on top of them.

Teams must choose a Sportage and hurry over to claim it.

Teams will then make their way to The Little Mermaid statue for their next clue and a scroll which they must not open until told to.

Teams will now drive to Hans Christian Andersen’s house in Odense where they will find the Road Block: Who’s ready for a Hans-on experience?

For this Road Block, teams will open their scroll to find a Hans Christian Andersen poem. They must memorize and then correctly perform it to receive the next clue.

That clue points teams to Hans Christian Andersen’s childhood home which they must figure out they can reach by foot.

The clue waiting there directs teams to Odin’s Odense. And it is at this Iron Age Village where teams will find the Detour: Right on Target or Right on the Mark.

In Right on Target, teams will pick up a bow and arrow and each team member must hit different targets, large and small, near and far. Once they’ve completed the course, they will receive their next clue.

In Right on the Mark, teams will make a traditional shoe or woven basket. When their crafts get the thumbs up, they’ll also get the next clue.

Teams can now make their way to the Pit Stop at Odense Stadium.

But before they can step on the Mat in the middle of the field, each team member must successfully kick a penalty kick.

The first team to check-in will win P200,000 courtesy of Shell V-Power Nitro+.

The last team to check-in WILL be eliminated.

“Director’s” Commentary

Denmark was one of the most open countries at this time, so of course we’ll be visiting here. Unfortunately, Google scouting didn’t really result in too many options. So this Leg feels very bland on paper, tbh. Hopefully the teams can carry the weight lol

The first chunk of this Leg basically centers around Rosenborg Castle. It gets teams running around in an open area with not many people. So that’s a good thing on this season. I wasn’t sure what to do at the castle though. So I just came up with this random task. The hope is that the details are so small and intricate that teams will take a long time trying to find the replicas. And we also hope that the communication between teammates makes for some nice frustration and drama as well.

A few extra Route Markers just to fill out the Leg before the Hans Christian Andersen Road Block. I again couldn’t think of what kind of task to do relating to him. But memorize and perform task is an easy go-to.

Now, for the Detour, it’s kinda meh. Odin’s Odense is one of those cultural village tourist attractions. So on one hand, it’s kind of lazy. On the other, I have nothing else! Lol Both tasks should hopefully take a long time and again, frustrate teams. We want breakdowns and arguments!

Finally, another task before the Mat. Who knows, one of these Pit Stops, we’ll get a dramatic elimination or something because of that pre-Mat task!

Overall, this is one of those Legs where you hope the teams will deliver and carry the episode.
