George is excited to get an autograph from Kamen Rider Accel Terui Ryu. But while he fanboys, Ryu would like to get down to business. Having heard George is the creator of the Vistamps, he wanted to show him a strange Vistamp he found on a Dopant he was fighting.
George explains that it was his father who started developing Vistamps and he just completed his work. But this strange Vistamp is different from any one he’s seen so far.
Ryu mentions that a Gaia Memory would eject from a Dopant when defeated. But it was this Stamp that popped out instead. George is very excited to learn more.
Ryu gets a call about another Stamp being found and he wants George to come with.
Meanwhile back at the pension, Gen-san is interrogating Samejima and Kamiya who appear to have solid alibis. Hiromi says Suzu and Hanawa were with them at the time of the murder. Suzu says Misa was trying to call the police.
Gen-san demands the culprit make themselves known. But Ikki remembers the broken flower vase and sand in the room. Ikki tries to get everyone to calm down.
Later, Ikki, Hiromi and Gen-san are alone. Ikki introduces Gen-san to Vice before they try to figure out the clues they have so far. Hiromi remembers the Deadman they were fighting before could manipulate sand. But Ikki says having a Vistamp does not automatically make someone the culprit.
Suzu and Misa come in with some snacks for them. Hiromi asks Misa if Suzu has a man, but she just scoffs at him. Gen-san says Hiromi must asks Suzu himself and he agrees.
Ikki remembers Suzu has not been around for a while and Gen-san realizes where she might be.
Suzu is with Kamiya for her guitar lesson. Ikki, Gen-san and Hiromi are watching them from the stairs when Misa approaches them. Gen-san and Hiromi run away. But Ikki notices Kamiya looking oddly at Suzu.
Suzu is surprised to see Ikki there, but not as shocked as Kamiya seems to be.
Anyway, Suzu asks Ikki to help her with the dishes. She tells him about inheriting the pension from her father and how she was supposed to run it with her fiancé. But he passed away.
Ikki saves Suzu from some falling baskets and he offers to finish up here in the kitchen so Suzu can rest. Suzu asks why is he so nice and Ikki replies that this is how the eldest should always be. Suzu “jokes” that Ikki would make a great boyfriend.
Vice takes notes of his observations.
A heartbroken Hiromi hears the entire conversation.
Next day, George and Ryu arrive in Zawame City where they find Oren and Jonouchi fighting off an Inves from which another Vistamp pops out of.
George excitedly fanboys again and he takes selfies with Oren and Jonouchi who say the weird Stamps have turned a lot of people into Inves lately. They chase after the person they had just defeated.
Ryu thinks there is a direct connection between the Stamps and monsters. George posits that these Stamps can summon monsters other than Deadmans. And monster-summoning Vistamps must have come from a certain monster researcher. Ryu tells George to take him to that person before more people are hurt.
Back at the pension, Suzu approaches Hiromi who is outside and is about to confess his feelings to her.
Inside the pension, Ikki snaps himself out of his romantic stupor to ask Gen-san about any possible Roidmudes who might have used sand. Gen-san doesn’t know and says they will just have to interrogate everyone some more. Ikki wonders if they should exclude Suzu and Gen-san teases him about being in love.
Vice wants to interview Ikki about this new love triangle, but they suddenly hear a scream.
Hiromi henshins to fight off a monster that has just arrived. He tells Suzu to run, but she falls flat on her face. Gen-san recognizes the monster as the Roidmude.
Hiromi powers up using the Mogura Vistamp and delivers a finisher at the Roidmude. But that attack forces him to dehenshin. Ikki hurries over to catch Hiromo before he collapses to the ground.
Hiromi says his journey seems to be ending here. He leaves everything to Ikki from now on as he loses consciousness.
Episode Thoughts
So this episode was definitely more focused on George and Ryu instead of whatever is happening at the pension. Because of that, there was less of that mystery/sleuth vibe from the first episode. And this episode played more like a normal series episode.
The most interesting tidbit from it was learning about George’s father developing the Vistamps. That must be a detail I either missed or forgotten from the show or they actually never mentioned it before. But anyway, it was interesting to hear. And it reminds me of a certain other father-son duo who created nefarious toys that would be trouble for our Rider heroes lol
It was fun to see Oren and Jonouchi pop in for a cameo. Like, a literal cameo. They were in and out within a minute. But always great to see familiar faces.
Having not watched Kamen Rider W (I really want to though!), I’m not as connected to Ryu. But he seems like a great character from what I’ve seen here.
Back to the pension, the love triangle stuff is just meh to me. But it really just makes it seem more that Suzu is the culprit. We’ll have to wait and see I guess.
Overall, an alright episode. I probably would prefer to watch all the episodes in one sitting though. It feels a bit tedious waiting every week for a new installment as the story isn’t the most exciting to warrant the wait, to be honest. But it’s all good, clean fun nonetheless.
