Teams were thrown for a loop by the surprise All U-Turn which ended up being the deciding factor in the elimination of TARPHDME’s first ever Hybrid Team.
Still in Israel, teams had to secure their own flights to Brussels. Five teams were able to get on the earlier flight, but ended up being delayed 40 minutes. The second flight carrying four teams arrived 30 minutes later.
Jak & Sanya and Arthur & Rochelle both went to different EU buildings, allowing teams from the second flight to overtake them at the first Route Marker in Brussels.
All teams eventually caught up at the Road Block and Jak & Sanya were able to finish in 2nd just minutes after Martina & Phil.
During the Road Block, Megan realized this was Mikael’s 6th Road Block and she would now have to perform the next three Road Blocks due to the Road Block Limit.
Jak & Sanya were the only team to choose the Whip It Off Detour first while everyone else chose Whip It Up. With the five slots at the Limited Stations Detour already filled, Tia & Fay decide to switch over to Whip It Off instead of waiting which is what Arthur & Rochelle and Boobay & Tekla decided to do.
Jak & Sanya maintained their lead after quickly finishing the Whip It Off Detour and were able to finish the Whip It Up Detour even before Boobay & Tekla who had waited.
Jak & Sanya continued to lead after completing the flower carpet. But they are slow to figure out the Pit Stop location. That allowed Tia & Fay, who had been running 2nd most of the Leg, to find Museum Herge first and claim the Leg win.
Mlee & Quoc Anh were able to slip into 2nd. Both Megan & Mikael and Jak & Sanya ran into each other at the Brussels Comics Art Museum before being directed to Museum Herge.
Martina & Phil were also momentarily lost finding the Pit Stop, but Boobay & Tekla were just not able to overcome the huge deficit they incurred at the Detour.
