Leg 19.07 – “If I fall off, will I freeze to death?”
The All-Stars open their first clue of this 7th Leg and it tells them their next destination is Ljubljana, Slovenia!
Teams will arrive in the capital city at 8:15am on Turkish Airlines from Erbil via Istanbul.
Upon arrival in Ljubljana, teams must find the funicular that will take them to the Ljubljana Castle where they will find the Detour: Perfect Puppetry or Delivered Dragon.
In Perfect Puppetry, teams must find the Museum of Puppetry where they will perform a skit using these puppets. Teams must memorize the lines for the skit (in both English and Slovenian) and properly maneuver the puppets to receive their next clue.
In Dragon Delivery, teams must assemble a large dragon friend, a symbol of Ljubljana. They will then deliver the dragon on foot from the castle to the Dragon Bridge in order to receive their next clue.
After the Detour, teams must find the Sup Klub in Ljubljana.
Teams will need to first check-in at the Yield Board, if activated, before opening the next clue.
Teams must now use a sup, or a standup paddleboard to get themselves to the Triple Bridge where they must grab a clue envelope hanging from under the bridges. Of the dozens of envelopes, only eight have actual clues.
That clue tells teams to make their way to Preseren Square for the next cluebox.
And that clue, which includes a key, tells teams to find Butcher’s Bridge.
Here, teams must use their key to search for the matching lovelock on the bridge that can be unlocked with it. They can exchange the lock and key for their next clue.
This is also the Trigger Point for this Leg of the Race. If at least two teams find the correct lock within their first ten tries, the U-Turn or Yield will be activated on the next Leg.
Teams must now make their way to Philharmonic Hall in Ljubljana where they will find the Road Block: Who can hear straight?
For this Road Block, teams will listen to a piece being performed by the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra inside the Hall. They must then search the dozens of instrumentalists in the nearby Park Zvezda for five who are playing the same piece. They must then bring those five instrumentalists inside to the conductor for approval to receive the next clue.
And that clue directs teams to make their way on foot to Tivoli Castle.
This mansion located in Tivoli Park is the Pit Stop for this Leg of the Race. The first team to check-in here will win P200,000 courtesy of Shell V-Power Nitro+.
The last team to check-in here WILL be eliminated.

“Director’s” Commentary
Yay! Another #NewCountryAlert!
This should be a nice contrast of a Leg to not only Kurdistan last Leg, but pretty much all the Legs so far on this Route. Slovenia has been on the list for a while and it fit great on this Route.
First up is a visit to Ljubljana Castle via funicular. Always nice to have teams hop on a funicular on the Race. (It seems to really have become a TAR staple lol) The Detours are both straightforward tasks. The puppets is definitely a familiar task to other TARs and the museum is located here on the grounds so it is a good task. The dragon is a symbol of Ljubljana so I wanted to incorporate it into a task here. A simple assemble and delivery task should be a good balance to the puppet side of the Detour which includes a language component too.
The next task gets teams in the water so they can reach the Triple Bridge. Definitely also a familiar task, having to grab clues hanging under the bridge. But the paddleboard should provide an extra challenge for the teams. And bonus if teams fall into the water. (What if in ICY water?!)
Now next we have an infamous lock task. Though I don’t think it should be too hard since the key will very obviously fit in certain, specific types of locks. We might have yellow and red locks so as not to be too crazy and undoable. Or something like that. We don’t want teams here for hours. Or do we?
The Road Block is basically recycled from a few TARPHDMEs in the past. But that’s really because I’m not too sure what else to do in Ljubljana without actually visiting the city to scout for things in person of course!
One other thing, I’m not sure if I want this to be a snowy visit or not. I think the snow would definitely be great and another stark contrast with the previous Legs.
Overall, I think this could be a great Leg. It’s a straightforward Leg, but it allows for many opportunities for competition and teams to move ahead or fall behind.
