Koh, Melt and Asuna are arguing over their planning of a new attack formation. Asuna criticizes Melt for overthinking and says if he thinks too much, he can’t do anything on his own. Koh agrees.
Papa Naohisa suggests they cool off by going to a live action treasure hunt. Ui says it’s the hottest thing right now. A reluctant Melt has no choice but to join the excited Koh and Melt.
Meanwhile, Bamba stumbles upon an antique shop owner crawling on the ground after his shop has been ransacked.
Over at the treasure hunt, Koh, Asuna and Melt run into Towa just as the game begins. A witch welcomes all the participants to Wonderland where their greatest desires will be granted once they find and open a treasure chest.
Koh, Melt, Asuna and Towa immediately find a treasure chest. But Melt is suspicious. Before he can stop them from approaching the chest, it eats them up. Turns out the witch and her sidekick clown are Waizuru and Kureon.
They wake up in a strange Wonderland where the other participants are all finding treasure chests scattered throughout the area. Melt thinks this might be a Druidon trap, but Asuna says he’s just overthinking again.
The other participants open treasure chests and are all granted their desires such as moneys and makeup. Asuna runs over to a chest and opens it, granting her desire for grilled meat. She digs in for unlimited BBQ despite Melt telling her to stop eating strange meat.
Towa opens a chest and desires to be stronger. Out pop Drunns and he morphs, excited to show off his strength and skill.
Koh opens his chest wanting to see the world. The chest makes Koh able to fly and he flies up into the sky until he hits some strange barrier. Koh and Melt decide to investigate further. They find they are in some kind of dome-like dimension.
Melt stops Koh from just slicing at the barrier as they have to consider any danger associated with it. Melt says Koh always acts without thinking first. Koh answers that sometimes acting is more important than thinking, so Melt should just act instead of worrying so much.
Melt snaps back that Koh and Asuna don’t think he can do anything on his own and that they don’t trust him. He turns and walks away saying that he’ll do things his own way while Koh can do it his.
Koh finds the other participants are now suffering from having too much money and too much makeup.
Melt is in the forest, lamenting that the others just don’t get it. But Master Blue suddenly appears and says it is Melt that doesn’t get it.
Melt wonders if Master Blue popped out of the treasure chest even if he never desired him. Master Blue asks Melt if he trusts his comrades. Because the only reason Melt overthinks things could be that he doesn’t trust them to be reliable.
A huge group of Drunns, stragglers from Towa’s desire, appear and Melt morphs to take them on by himself.
Just then, Waizuru floats down to greet Melt and explains via loudspeaker that Wonderland is a world created by a Minosaur, the treasure chest!
Koh realizes Melt was right and he morphs as well.
Waizuru continues to explain that the treasure chest will continue to grant the greedy humans their desires until they die. Kureon says Wonderland has no exits.
Suddenly, two familiar Minosaurs appear. But Melt is unable to defeat them for good as they just immediately resurrect. Master Blue says the two of them must be defeat at the same time.
Melt doesn’t think he can do this on his own. But Master Blue says he must believe in himself. He knows what Melt desired was confidence.
Melt musters up the confidence and is able to simultaneously defeat the two Minosaurs. But Master Blue has disappeared. Melt approaches an open treasure chest and is shocked to find what’s inside.
Two Minosaurs pop out of Towa’s treasure chest again. Melt tells Koh to take care of Towa while he goes to fetch Asuna who is now completely full from meat. She snaps out of her meat eating and morphs.
Koh is unable to control Towa so he uses a Soul to put him to sleep.
Melt and Asuna arrive and Melt has just gotten an idea. He begins making calculations, much to Asuna’s confusion. But Koh tells her to leave Melt to his thinking while they both protect him.
The two Minosaurs embiggen as the “minus” emotions from the game participants feed them. Koh suggests they split up, but Melt insists that the two Minosaurs must be defeated simultaneously. Asuna scolds Melt and says he should just act. But Melt says there are enemies who cannot be defeated on just action alone.
Koh asks for Melt’s idea.
They get into position, based on Melt’s calculations. He says this will work because he trusts them.
They summon their Kishiryu who pop out of the treasure chest and begin attacking the Minosaurs. They hop into KishiryuOh Triken and deliver a Triken Strike to defeat the two Minosaurs at the same time.
Melt then sticks his sword through the sky, right at the treasure chest’s keyhole. That forces the treasure chest Minosaur to open up, releasing them and all the game participants.
But now they have to find out who birthed the Minosaur so they can destroy it for good. Bamba walks in and says the Minosaur was not born from a person, but from a miniature model garden that laid neglected in the antique shop for years. Minosaurs can be born out of anything in the world as long as they have minus emotions.
Bamba destroys the mini garden and the Minosaur is destroyed.
Later, Melt wonders if it really was Master Blue he saw earlier. Especially since the charm he had given to Master Blue was inside the treasure chest earlier.
It was an interesting episode. The good part was the idea that you can be both someone who is analytical (like Melt) while also being decisive and take action (Koh and Asuna). That then makes them a good team who can work together using their own strengths.
The basic setup was a little strange though. Especially with Bamba randomly and conveniently stumbling upon the answer to this week’s MOTW. I felt like the main plot of the episode felt a little sloppy. And the idea that anything can be a Minosaur is also very odd lol
Overall though, it was a good Melt-focus episode that highlighted his strenghts.
