Philippine Nominees to 2009 International Emmy Awards

The International Emmy Awards ceremony will be held Monday night in New York and the International Emmy World Television Festival is happening this weekend. Awards for Best Drama, Best Telenovela, Actor, Actress, and more will be handed out to the lucky winners from various countries around the world.

The Philippines has three nominations this year:
Angel Locsin in the category of Best Performance by an Actress for her lead role in ABS-CBN’s The Wolf (Philippine title: Lobo). Here is the trailer for her performance and the series:

Her performance as Lyka, a woman who discovers she is half-wolf, has widely been hailed as the breakthrough performance of her career. It is her first drama series after making a huge career decision to transfer television networks in the Philippines.

Two drama series were nominated in the category of Best Telenovela.
First is the Philippine-Malaysian co-production A Time For Us (Philippine title: Kahit Isang saglit) which aired on ABS-CBN in the Philippines and worldwide on The Filipino Channel. Here is the special trailer for the series…

The drama tells the love story of Rocky and Garie whose love story begins when their destinies collide and their families’ pasts are revealed.

The second is Magdusa Ka from GMA Network.
Here is a collection of TV commercials promoting the series about a waitress who will do everything to raise her family out of poverty, but does not know her true past:
