I will admit, last year, I honestly didn’t care if season 33 ever finished filming or not. I had a bit of Amazing Race fatigue or maybe, more accurately, a case of Amazing Race apathy. And I absolutely believe it had to do with how annoyingly horrible season 32 was and how exhausting (and also annoying) Amazing Race Australia 5 was. I was all Amazing Race-d out.
The Final Leg begins with Phil welcoming teams onto the charter flight and telling them their final destination is Los Angeles, California.
The Final Four fly via charter flight to Lisbon, Portugal. The Leg begins at Sanctuary of Christ the King in Almada. Raquel & Cayla depart at 8:30am, Kim & Penn and Arun & Natalia depart at 8:45am and Ryan & Dusty depart at 9:00am.
The remaining teams will get to choose where to stay tonight by using the “fast and easy” Travelocity app. After their wonderful sponsored stay, teams begin the 9th Leg at Kallikrateia Port. Kim & Penn and Raquel & Cayla depart at 9am and open the clue telling them to drive to Thessaloniki. Ryan & Dusty and Arun & Natalia depart at 9:15am.
All teams board their charter flight to Thessaloniki, Greece. Teams will stagger start from Perea Beach. Kim & Penn and Raquel & Cayla depart at 9am. Ryan & Dusty and Lulu & Lala depart at 9:15am. Arun & Natalia depart at 9:30am.
Kim & Penn and Raquel & Cayla depart first at 8am with the other three teams departing at 8:15am. Teams must drive themselves in Volkswagen T-Roc convertibles to Tour de Fautea where they will eat some cazu marzu, a cheese brought to life with maggots.
All the teams board the charter flight en route to Corsica, France and will start the Leg at Pont Altiani in three groups, departing every 15 minutes and armed with ten euros. In the 9am group are Ryan & Dusty and Lulu & Lala. In the 9:15am group are Kim & Penn, Raquel & Cayla and Akbar & Sheri. And in last place, departing at 9:30am are Arun & Natalia.
Phil explains that for the rest of the Race, teams will depart the Pit Stop in the order they checked-in at the end of the last Leg and in groups departing every 15 minutes.
The Race resumes 19 months after getting shut down by COVID-19. Phil welcomes back five teams to St. Gallen, Switzerland: Ryan & Dusty, Raquel & Cayla, Lulu & Lala, Kim & Penn and Akbar & Sheri. Connie & Sam, Anthony & Spencer, Taylor & Isaiah and Caro & Ray, however, were not able to return. So the show has invited Michael & Moe and Arun & Natalia back to rejoin the Race.
Teams continue Racing after the Zero-Hour Pit Stop and must now hop on an overnight train to Glasgow, Scotland. Upon arrival, teams will find their next clue in cars waiting at the NCP Car Park.
