Taxi Driver was my favorite drama series of 2021. It was such an exciting and fun television experience, mixing adrenaline-fueled action, lighthearted humor and vicarious satisfaction. Watching the Rainbow Taxi team’s unique brand of vigilante justice and their sincerity in helping the powerless was just amazing. So when a season two was confirmed, it was more than welcome news.
Now that this season’s endgame is much clearer now, I think my feelings about the season are also getting a bit clearer as well.
I love Taxi Driver. So it pains to say anything remotely negative about the series. But Episodes 11 and 12 were kinda Meh for me.
This week’s episodes of Taxi Driver 2 had probably the most outrageous case yet. Yes, even crazier than the cult last week!
Episodes 7 and 8 of Taxi Driver 2 were definitely much better than the last pair. We got just enough new information and detail with our sketchy new friend On Ha Joon. And the case of the week was much more engaging with a nice touch of levity as well.
These two episodes of Taxi Driver were interesting. Mostly because I’m not sure I actually liked or enjoyed them. And it’s not because the subject matter was uncomfortable or anything like that. It just felt like the case of the week was a bit too “out there” compared to the more relatable and character-driven cases our Rainbow Taxi friends usually take care of.
I was hoping to keep up with the second season of Taxi Driver every week, but that was easier said than done for me. Thankfully though, the show had to delay Episode 6 by a week, so I haven’t fallen too far behind. I decided to wait for Episode 6 before watching its paired Episode 5. So for now, I got to enjoy Episodes 3 and 4 first.
Even for a drama series as excellent as Taxi Driver, some things might be a bit hazy for a viewer more than 20 months since its last episode. But these first two episodes back were perfect reminders of every single thing that made those first 16 episodes in 2021 so amazing and one of the best television experiences you can have.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a more fun, exciting television experience than when watching SBS’ latest blockbuster series Taxi Driver (모범택시/Deluxe Taxi). The adrenaline-fueled thriller captures the perfect balance of emotionally affecting-drama, roaring action sequences, lighthearted moments and vicarious satisfaction as it follows a team of on-call revenge specialists. An exceptional cast is just icing on the cake of what could end up being one of the year’s absolute best.
