It’s the most competitive Leg yet as the final seven teams Race across the island of Upolu in Samoa! Teams’ strengths are put to the test and the most difficult Road Block of the season so far pushes teams to the limit!

Teams begin the Leg at 7am in front of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral with Ehra & Michelle taking the early lead. Elma & Jojo and Christian & Sam lose precious time on the way to the Papase’ea Sliding Rocks. But a tricky Detour provides the first opportunity for teams to move ahead. Which is exactly what Elma & Jojo are able to do by choosing the Tapa Detour. MM & MJ struggle with the Pate side of the Detour and drop down to 6th, but end up being neck and neck with Christian & Sam in last place getting to To Sua Ocean Trench.

Teams remain within 30 minutes of each other as they arrive at the Roundabout. Elma & Jojo, Kakai & Cai and MM & MJ choose to do the Fale task first and have some trouble getting the hang of the physical task. The other teams, who are able to complete the Puzzle quicker than the three teams completing the other task, are able to then observe those teams to help them get through the Fale faster as well.

But it is at the Road Block where teams struggle with the unexpectedly physical and intricate task. Christian & Sam, who were in last for a good portion of the Leg, are able to get the hang of the task the fastest and are able to get the thumbs up after an hour and 45 minutes. And they head to the Pit Stop to officially claim their second Leg win of the Race.

Jacob & Jerika move up from the middle of the pack to claim 2nd.

Meanwhile, the other teams decide it’s time to use the Interchange. And that gives them a huge energy boost in order to finish the Road Block task. Ehra & Michelle finish the Road Block next after two hours and 45 minutes, but Elma & Jojo are able to catch up and just pass them to the Pit Stop. Elma & Jojo finish 3rd with the Madrigal Sisters finishing 4th. Miriam & Ardy get to the Mat as Team #5.

That leaves only two teams. Kakai & Cai are able to finish the Road Block in 6th, after two hours and 39 minutes. But MM & MJ are just five minutes behind them. It’s a Race to the Pit Stop. And it is a close finish as MM & MJ just edge the best friends to claim 6th. Though their excellent navigation skills brought them big success during the season, Kakai & Cai make an unfortunate rare mistake on the way to the Pit Stop, pushing them to last and are sadly eliminated from the Race.
