Recap: Kamen Rider Saber, Episode 27 – Sorrow, Turn It Into a Smile.
Storious is using a forbidden technique to add a page to Legeiel’s Book which he can then use to fill his insatiable anger toward Touma. Storious hands Legeiel the upgraded Book and tells him to show off the new power.
Legeiel shoves the Book into his body and transforms.
At the North Pole, Yuuri confirms that Kento did indeed see multiple futures thanks to the hidden power of Kurayami. Touma says he will fight alongside Kento instead of letting him fight this battle alone. But Yuuri says they will need to do something about the Primitive Dragon Book first.
Touma tells them about the sad boy worriedly calling out to him the last time he went Primitive. He believes the sad boy is actually a kind boy and he wants to save him.
Touma says he will willingly henshin into Primitive so he can speak with the sad boy. Ogami-san thinks that’s dangerous. But Yuuri and Mei trust Touma, so Ogami-san says he’ll take care of things if Touma goes out of control.
Touma says he wants to henshin in Liberation, the place Rintaro went to train. That way, no one will get hurt.
Touma finds the sad boy, but it suddenly turns into a dragon and forces Touma to dehenshin when it blows hot fire. Touma henshins once again and tries talking to the sad boy. But the boy dragon forces him to dehenshin. The cycle repeats over and over without Touma being able to reach the boy.
While they are waiting, Mei’s Book alerts them to Legeiel rampaging downtown.
The sad boy tells Touma that a human like him would never understand. He then asks where “everyone” is.
Touma stumbles back out to the library. Mei and Tetsuo tell him about Ogami-san and Yuuri going out to face Legeiel.
Touma hurries downtown and when he sees a little boy looking for his mother amidst the chaos, he realizes what he must do with the sad boy.
Ogami-san and Yuuri are struggling just as Touma arrives, much to Legeiel’s delight. Touma henshins to Dragonic Knight and they battle.
Primitive Dragon locks itself in and Touma uphenshins. Yuuri tells Ogami-san to hold Legeiel off while he tries to get Touma to snap out of it.
Both Rintaro and Kento are nearby, watching the events unfold.
In the Primitive forest, Touma fights through the flames to try and reach the boy. Kento predicts, based on his future visions, that Touma will dehenshin at this moment.
But Touma reaches the sad boy dragon who again asks where everyone has gone. Kento is shocked when Touma remains henshined.
Yuuri and Ogami-san do their best to try and hold off Legeiel, but they are forced to dehenshin thanks to his upgraded Book.
When Legeiel turns his attention back to Touma, Rintaro shields him and vows to also protect Touma’s resolve.
Touma asks the sad boy dragon why he’s so sad. The boy said dragons and humans had been good friends once upon a time. But one day, humans who were scared of dragons began hunting them down until he was the only one left.
The sad boy dragon couldn’t find all his friends and has been wandering alone this whole time. Touma says his story is not over yet.
Touma relates a story of a voice telling the lone sad boy dragon that he is not alone and his friends are all around him. The wind, the water, the earth and fire. They are all his friends.
The sad boy dragon smiles for the first time and thanks Touma for finding his friends for him.
Touma asks if he can be his friend too. The boy dragon takes his hand.
Rintaro tries to deliver a finisher at Legeiel, but he ends up forced to dehenshin. Rintaro, Yuuri and Ogami-san, unhenshined, try to hold Legeiel back. But it’s no use.
Legeiel sends an attack at Touma, but the two dragons within him protect him. Touma emerges, unhenshined, with the Elemental Dragon Book and the Primitive Dragon Book in either of his hands.
Rintaro is happy that Touma has saved the little boy.
Touma combines the two Books and henshins to Elemental Dragon.
Touma is able to counter Legeiel’s powered up form. Legeiel can’t believe a human can be this powerful. “Weren’t you a human once as well?” Touma asks. As Legeiel laughs off such an absurd statement, he suddenly has a memory flash before him.
Legeiel, Storious and Zooous are happily smiling as they, along with three others including a Master Logos and Victor, are the first humans to lay eyes on the Wonder World.
Legeiel refuses to believe that he was once human. He takes his anger and confusion out on Touma.
But Touma is much too powerful. Yuuri says the Megido have used a forbidden technique and Legeiel cannot be saved. It’s time for Touma to end him.
Touma affirms that he writes the end to this story and he sends a finisher at Legeiel.
Legeiel explodes. Storious, watching nearby, laments that Legeiel’s story has come to an end.
Touma dehenshins. But he finds himself in the forest once again. This time, the little boy is accompanied by Tassel.
Tassel introduces himself and thanks Touma for saving the boy when no one else could. He is also sure that the little girl (Luna) is happy as well. He warns that the end of the world is near and that he must find Luna as soon as possible.
Mei and Tetsuo arrive and they, Ogami-san and Yuuri approach Touma. He tells them that the little boy did not desire destruction, but family and friends.
Touma says he is not alone as well.
Rintaro watches them, but walks away saying he has also found his resolve.
Kento, also watching, says none of this will change the future.
Episode Thoughts
Okay first of all, I legit thought the little boy was Kento or something. lol I really must have missed something in the last couple of weeks if the little boy was mentioned as a story in the forbidden book or whatever. Completely over my head. lol
But that’s alright, Touma got his power up and new toy. So all’s well that ends well. My main takeaway will just be Touma is a good guy who won’t ever give up on his friends, old and new. And in seeing him do that, Rintaro finally wakes up and will start bringing down the traitors of the South from the inside out.
Obviously, Kento is not as hopeful. But I’m just glad that he’s still being moody in the shadows. Lol Next week looks to be the big moment Ren comes face to face with his dear Kento-kun. I have high expectations.
Now, the biggest development for me this episode was definitely that little peek at the pre-Megido Megido3. Seeing Storious, Legeiel and Zooous happy and smiling in the Wonder World was somehow so refreshing and wonderful to see.
I’m just going to say that I absolutely do not believe Legeiel is dead. Far from it. I don’t know what to make of his little smile before he explodes. But I just know that he’ll be popping up in the future. (I hope! *holds back tears*)
From now on, I hope to see a bigger focus on the Megido3. Especially seeing them as humans and then how they possibly could’ve become corrupted. That better not be smashed into a single episode. I’m hoping to see an entire arc fleshing out their stories. After 27 episodes, I think it’s well past time they finally get some of the spotlight.
That scene of the six of them looking out over the colorful world really excited me for some reason and I hope Saber delivers something really good for that part of the story.
The season has really perked up since the focus has shifted away from the Northern Base and its large group of inhabitants. The best thing to happen this season was the big group breaking apart. And somehow, that helped to refocus the season and actually be more capable of telling engaging stories.
Overall, an interesting episode. I refuse to believe what I saw in the episode. But it was good and enjoyable nonetheless. hehe
