Teams were neck and neck on a physically demanding Penultimate Leg as the two alliances battled for the three spots in the finale.
Megan & Mikael and Danica & Ciara took the lead heading to Daepo Port. But Jak & Sanya and Martina & Phil were able to catch up to even the Race at that point.
Martina & Phil and Jak & Sanya were able to find the Abai Village first and also successfully make abai-sundaes first as Megan & Mikael and Danica & Ciara found themselves lost on their way there.
At the Detour, Megan & Mikael and Danica & Ciara catch up to the other two teams and initially decide on the swings. But seeing how Martina & Phil and Jak & Sanya were struggling with the swings, Megan & Mikael and Danica & Ciara decide to switch to the ssireum instead. That allowed them to finish the Detour first. Sanya tells her older brother that they should switch as well, but Jak, Martina and Phil all say they’ve spent too much time on the swings to give up now.
However, Megan & Mikael and Danica & Ciara once again get lost as they had difficulty deciphering the 50,000 won clue. That allowed Martina & Phil and Jak & Sanya to arrive at Ojukheon and begin the Road Block first.
Unfortunately for Phil and Jak, Danica was much quicker with the task and that allowed her and Ciara to leave first and eventually check-in as Team #1.
Jak finishes next, followed by Mikael just a few minutes later and Phil finishing last.
It’s a three-way Race to the Mat. Megan & Mikael’s navigational troubles continue when they make a wrong turn, driving them to fear their elimination. But unfortunately for Jak & Sanya, one wrong turn and some bad directions get them completely lost.
That allows Megan & Mikael to check-in as Team #2. Martina & Phil, fearing they are last and have succumbed to a version of the hometown curse, are shocked to learn they are actually Team #3.
That means Jak & Sanya, arriving 15 minutes later, are last and eliminated.
