As is always with the Supernatural fandom, when something comes up that seems so out of left field, so against what the show is about, so different from what we’re used to, Kripke & Co. aren’t going to hear the end of it.
Even though Kripke & Co. have come through before with things like the 3rd Winchester Bro but slipped a little with the two new girls (*gasp*), odds are Kripke and Co. know what they’re doing.
So when news that Paris Hilton was going to be reuniting with her House of Wax co-star Jared Padalecki when she guest stars on an episode this season, the fandom took to the message boards and Twitter.
I learned a long time ago to just wait and see with Supernatural and as it usually is, Kripke and Co. delivered and we really had nothing to worry about.
*GASP* x2 at the fact that Paris Hilton was actually pretty good. Now I’m by no means a Simple Life or BFF kind of guy, but she was very effective I must say, she can kick ass, and it made it all the more hilariously satisfying to see Sam chopping her head off.
It was a very simple case this week, but aside from Paris and the *wink*wink* to Jared with the House of Wax zinger, the highlight of the episode was the continuing brother drama.
Of course, more opportunity for Jared and Jensen to nail their scenes, but also great further development of the strained relationship still a long way from being healed. Great callback to Sam always feeling like the little brother, and both realizing that maybe both have faults and mistakes that they’ve got to own up to.
A simple episode, yet so complex in many ways and definitely enjoyable.
But if that wasn’t enough, we get a full on “SOON” preview at the end of the episode. The things that caught my eye were the Japanese game show, Sam getting whacked in the balls, the sitcom, Kyle XY’s surprise brother, Dean McCain(?), the Impala doing an awesome KITT, Jared doing an awesome David Caruso, and the creepy half-demon/half-human kid.
Lots to look forward to, that’s for sure!
