I can confidently say The Amazing Race 34 is the best non-TARPHDME season of The Amazing Race in 2022. I think there’s several reasons for that. And I’ll outline it here. But basically, even as TAR34 was the first TARUS season filmed completely in the COVID Era, it was as close to normal TAR as TAR can get.
The Final Three teams fly to the final destination city: Nashville. They will start the Leg in Lynchburg, just outside of the city, in front of the Jack Daniels Distillery.
Teams fly to Iceland for the Penultimate Leg where they will be Racing through an Expedia-inspired adventure. The Final Four board helicopters to take them to a glacier, the Pit Start for today.

Teams continue the Mega Leg by driving an Audi convertible to Ronda, Spain and finding a tour guide holding the Andalusian flag on top of Puente Nuevo. Luis & Michelle arrive in Ronda first and open the next clue revealing the Detour: Bend Over Backwards or Dress for Success.
Teams fly to Malaga, Spain for the 8th Leg of the Race which will be a Mega Leg. Derek & Claire and Luis & Michelle open the first clue, containing zero euros, telling them to head on foot to Plaza de la Merced. The other three teams depart at 8:15am.
After teams promote the Expedia app by using it to “book” their lodging for the night, the 7th Leg begins the next morning at 8am. The two sibling teams open the first clue telling them to drive to Toulouse. At 8:15am, Derek & Claire and Luis & Michelle team up to find out where to go first. Quinton & Mattie and Aubrey & David start the Leg at 8:30am.
Teams fly from Amman to Dordogne, France for this 6th Leg. Luis & Michelle and Aubrey & David depart first from Chateau de Beynac at 8:45am. They open the first clue telling teams to drive to Chateau de Commarque. Derek & Claire and Quinton & Mattie depart at 9am.
To start the 5th Leg of the Race, Phil assembles all the teams at The Citadel in Amman. He calls Abby & Will to inform them that they have tested positive for COVID and are unfortunately eliminated.
Phil welcomes teams on the tarmac before they board the plane. He announces that for the first time ever, teams will be traveling to the Kingdom of Jordan! Upon arrival in Jordan, teams board a steam train in the Wadi Rum desert. Along the way, a group of men on horseback and camels suddenly come galloping right alongside the them, waving swords in the air to welcome them.
Glenda & Lumumba quickly hurry to try and catch up to the other teams who are driving to the Villa Bardini in Florence. Marcus & Michael maintain their slim lead as they arrive just minutes before Emily & Molly.
