2005 CBS, UPN and Fox Upfronts

TAR stays put on Tuesday, but CBS had the balls to go and cancel Joan of Arcadia and Judging Amy … even though I don’t watch them… but still…
Its smart for CBS to have Close to Home, the Bruckheimer/Littman (TAR producers) drama to be scheduled after TAR… Otherwise, nothing else too interesting for CBS, but then again CBS isn’t really a buzz network in terms of shows… they’ll do well anyway…

Yes! They moved Veronica Mars but NO! because its up against Lost now… great… they moved Smackdown to Fridays… which is probably a smart move becuase it’ll get stable ratings no matter where it is… and UPN has been very unsuccessful on Fridays… I don’t know about UPN’s Thursday strategy… it could just collapse and with Eve as the anchor??? uh… no… and Top Model repeats on Tuesday?!?!? Very wierd…

Damn… they didn’t pick up the Melissa Joan Heart/Michael Mantenuto comedy… but they did pick up Freebirds with Erin Cahill… They also picked up The Gate which is set in San Francisco, but probably not filmed in San Francisco… but still SF… And congrats to Will Estes on Reunion… DAMN YOU NBC for cancelling American DreamsPrison Break also seems interesting… Fox has a strong crop of new shows… but will they be a ratings hit??? maybe not
