I’ve been watching The Amazing Race since its premiere in 2001. I began posting random thoughts about the show and episodes on my old Xanga blog before starting to write full recaps and reviews during Season 11. That continued on when I migrated over to the present-day DryedMangoez.com and I’ve recapped and ranted about The Amazing Race ever since.
Because of the one-minute credit at the end of the Penultimate Leg, Tara & Wil will depart at the same time as Blake & Paige at 11:13pm. The first clue tells teams to drive to Hana and find Queen Ka’ahumanu’s Birthplace. Teams will have $1 for this Final Leg.
With no more eliminations, this Leg is all about “jockeying” for the best position in the Final Leg. The Penultimate Leg begins with Tara & Wil starting the Leg at 1:03am. They open the first clue telling them to find Sir John Logan Campbell. They must figure out that it is a monument dedicated to the father of Auckland on the top of One Tree Hill.
Phil says this Leg will end with the last elimination of the Race. He teases that they will have to make up being one hour behind 3rd place team Chris & Alex in order to survive. Tara & Wil are also the last team who has not used a Fast Forward yet.
The 10th Leg begins in the Outback with Chris & Alex departing at 3:35am and opening the clue telling them to fly to Queenstown, New Zealand. To get there, teams must first load their vehicles on a road train that will take them to Glendambo. They will then drive to a local airstrip to sign up for one of two charter flights to Adelaide departing at 10:30am and 11:15am.
Oswald & Danny begin the 9th Leg of the Race at 8:26pm. Teams must climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. But to do that, teams must sign-up at BridgeClimb Sydney and they cannot go on the bridge, one at a time, until 5:45am.
With $100 in their envelope, Gary & Dave begin the 8th Leg at 4:11am.
Teams must take a sampan back to shore and hop on a bus to Repulse Bay where they must find the statue of Tin Hau.
Beginning Leg 7, Mary & Peach depart at 8:55pm and open the next clue telling teams to drive to the Seven Spires of Chiang Mai armed with $180 and a map. Gary & Dave depart at 8:56pm, Blake & Paige at 9pm, Oswald & Danny at 9:08pm, Tara & Will at 9:22pm and Chris & Alex at 9:23pm.
Chris & Alex begin the 6th Leg at 6:11am. Teams must return to Bangkok via Ampawa and find their next clue at a flower vendor in a sea of vendors at Pak Khlong Talad, the country’s largest flower market.
During the Pit Stop, tensions flared between Tara & Wil and Blake & Paige. Chris & Alex tell Tara & Wil about Blake saying he wants them out. Tara & Will decide to confront them and ask why Blake hates them so much. Blake says he just doesn’t like them. But Tara points out it was Blake who cut the grannies at the airport and made them cry. Wil points out Blake & Page cut Mary & Peach before the last Pit Stop. Blake doesn’t want to hear it and walks away.
