March 17, 2020. It’s the first day of a de facto quarantine here in the San Francisco Bay Area. And one of my first thoughts is I wish had a group of friends like the gang on the Netflix Korean drama My First First Love (첫사랑은 처음이라서) to spend it with.
I’d been meaning to finish this review of jTBC’s 2015 series D-Day (디데이) for a while now. It’s actually been a while since I last watched the entire series. But having started Sweet Stranger and Me starring Kim Young Kwang, I was reminded of how great D-Day was so I quickly rewatched the first couple of thrilling episodes before finishing up this review.
Having caught up with the currently airing Itaewon Class (Oy vey, more on that after it completes its run), I decided to check out another series while waiting for the next new episodes. That series, Love Alarm (좋아하면 울리는), ended up being a refreshing and very welcome contrast to the aforementioned series. And again, I’ll have more to say on that later on.
It’s easy to see why Crash Landing on You (사랑의 불시착) captured hearts all over the world.
As the 2018 KBS2 drama series Are You Human? begins airing in the Philippines on GMA Network, I felt the urge to watch the entire series again after having followed along as it originally aired. And I must say, it was just as enjoyable, exciting and heartfelt the second time around.

This season’s episodes of KBS Drama Special have all been great so far. But Love of a Buzz Cut (Buzzcut Love/까까머리의 연애) is something special, probably one of the most heartbreaking, poignant, romantic and beautiful Drama Specials I’ve seen.
Slice of life stories can be as engaging and exciting as high concept adventures. And The Reason We Can’t Sleep (우리가 못자는 이유) is definitely one of those.
Madam Jeong’s One Last Week (정마담의 마지막 일주일) is a fun, quirky but touching KBS Drama Special entry. But more importantly, it is an excellent showcase of Ra Mi Ran’s exceptional talent
Dancing the Waltz Alone (혼자 추는 왈츠) is the next episode in my marathon of the most recent season of KBS Drama Special. And let me just say right off the bat, what a painfully heartbreaking yet unfortunately realistic slice of life portrait of today, all told in a beautifully presented hour.
