Love Alarm Clap! Clap! Clap! (좋아하면 울리는 짝!짝!짝!) is definitely an interesting twist on the reality dating scene. Adapted from the popular webtoon and the popular (though polarizing) drama series, Love Alarm‘s use of technology offers a refreshing and welcome variable in the format.
The first season of Love Alarm (좋아하면 울리는) was one of the very first Korean dramas I watched last year at the start of stay at home/lockdown orders. I thought those first eight episodes were wonderful. So color me surprised that these six season 2 episodes had almost none of the things I enjoyed and liked from the first season.
Having caught up with the currently airing Itaewon Class (Oy vey, more on that after it completes its run), I decided to check out another series while waiting for the next new episodes. That series, Love Alarm (좋아하면 울리는), ended up being a refreshing and very welcome contrast to the aforementioned series. And again, I’ll have more to say on that later on.
