Mark gets a visit from Dr. Smith who apologizes for being a Marites, but he agrees that the others knowing about Mark’s past can help them understand him better. Mark says he doesn’t care if they do or not.
Zardoz reprimands his incompetent generals for yet another loss to the Erthuians. He zaps Zuhl and Draco, but stops from slicing Zandra’s head in half. She says she will offer up her entire body to him. Draco also says he will do what he can to not repeat this embarrassment.
The Voltes teams’ biosigns are heading into the critical stage as CBF is taking on more direct hits. Dr. Mary Ann makes her way through the chaos and out onto the tarmac. She thinks of Papa Armstrong as she finds a vacant fighter jet to hop into.
Dr. Mary Ann regains consciousness after their military vehicle is hit by the saucers. She realizes that CBF has raised the barrier, meaning they won’t be able to get in. She tries to call Dr. Smith, but the phone lines are still down.
Dr. Smith has assembled everyone in the command center. He reiterates that the Voltes team are Earth’s last line of defense. So in preparation for future threats, CBF and EDF will undergo a critical test. The Voltes team will attack CBF as if they were alien invaders. In return, the EDF will defend the base like it is a real attack as well. Real ammunition, real risks. But the Voltes team trusts in each other’s abilities and training.
Steve is making a speech at the celebration. He first thanks “the man up there” and then the guy next to Him, Ned Armstrong, the “mastermind” who created Voltes V. And finally, he thanks his Mama Armstrong for reminding them to always “Be brave, be strong.”
After it’s calmed down a bit at CBF, Jamie finds Mark and asks him how his check-up went. He’s says he’s all clear and she asks him to join her for a meal at the mess hall. Mark tells her to go ask the Armstrong Bros instead. Jamie wanted them all to eat together, but the Armstrong Bros have already left, so it’s just the two of them. Mark says Jamie should just go home and celebrate with her father and her family then.
Zardoz and Friends are taken aback by the arrival of Voltes V.
Dr. Smith tells the four cadets to hurry and prepare to hop into the Volt Machines. Dr. Mary Ann, however, points out that there’s only four of them and they’re missing one. Little Jon tugs on Dr. Smith’s sleeve and says, don’t ask him how, but he’s studied every part of the Voltes robo. So he’s ready to go as well.
Down on Earth, some of the cadets are having a bonfire. Eva tells the others that she and Ally have plans to head to the mainland this weekend and asks if they want to come with. She has a contact that can secretly get them on a boat. Bert points out that they were lucky to have been granted permission to have this little party on the beach. Steve is not too keen on leaving base and breaking the rules.
