Zardoz has lost all hope and tells Zandra and Draco that they’ve brought shame to Boazan. Later, Zandra tries to cheer Zardoz up by showing him that Ned Armstrong is with the rebels.
As HrothNed and the rebels take care of the initial wave of saucers, the Voltesers Volt In to deal with the Beastfighter. Zardoz is ready to celebrate his first win. The Voltesers whip out their Laser Sword, but it doesn’t even leave a scratch on Zunaizer. In fact, the four-headed Beastfighter is able to whack the sword out of Voltes V’s hands.
At CBF, Jamie approaches Mark to ask if he’s sure he doesn’t want to come with. He says he doesn’t want to be a bother in Jamie and Steve’s search. She insists that she and Steve are not together. But Mark points out that she still wants to be with him. Jamie says she cherishes her friendship with Mark and would never do anything to hurt him. She wants things to go back to the way they were.
Back at CBF, the Voltesers says they were released by their kalabans and they’ve realized not all of them are bad. The others also point out Mark is deserving of puri because he set aside his anger of Jamie and Steve to help save them. Mark says he doesn’t need puri, but Little Jon says he very much deserves it and that their friendship and teamwork won out in the end.
Takeo and Arisa are pretty good, but Zaki is growing impatient. She wants them to finish this battle yesterday. Mark says this is all Steve’s fault, but Steve refuses to admit he makes bad decisions. Even when just seconds earlier, he tries to lecture Mark about being able to admit your weaknesses and use that as strength like Commander General Robinson had taught them. Little Jon cries.
Mark says he pities Big Bert and Little Jon for worshipping such a poor leader like Steve. The two of them tussle and end up knocking Jamie to the ground. She yells that she’s going to get sent back to the hospital because of them. She begs them to grow up.
Dr. Hook sends Eva to join Steve, Mark and Big Bert in place of Jamie for special tactical training at EDF. Steve places her in the overwatch position and Eva says she will prove she is the best sniper at CBF. Their mission for this training is to save a hostage and they have no problem completing it.
Back at CBF, Steve hurries to find Eva and asks if she’s changed her mind about admitting to attempted murder. He is 100% sure she did it because she wants to be a Voltes pilot. But Eva says if she was really that desperate, she should’ve murdered him instead especially after he’s hurt her so much by being an asshole. So Steve better stop accusing her without any evidence. Steve says he will not hesitate to have her court-martialed.
Of course the masked kendo assassin is Eva. Steve arrives at the medical bay where Mark is already with an unconscious Jamie. Steve snaps at Mark before sitting with her alone. He tells her that she has to live because he loves her so much.
Mark and Steve report to Dr. Hook about their Boazanian encounter. From now on, none of the Voltes team will leave CBF without security. After they leave, Steve thanks Mark for saving his life earlier. Mark just ignores him, but Steve insists that even if they’re not okay, they should at least try to work things out for the team. Mark mans up and takes Steve’s hand for a shake, but walks away.
