It’s the Christmas season in Pine Ridge and Javi is busking downtown by performing Christmas songs on his keyboard. A mysterious man drops a mysterious tree topper star in his case and walks away.
The Rangers wonder why Void Knight would have taken Dr. Akana’s devices. But he won’t be able to use them anyway without the capacitor which Mama Akana took home to fix. They decide they want to lure Void Knight out into the open by using a sabotaged capacitor as bait. Ollie does not want to put his mother in danger, but the others pressure him to think about what’s at stake here. Zayto convinces Ollie to have them ask Dr. Akana if she would be willing.

Aiyon is having nightmares of the Final Battle of Rafkon when their comrades and most of the planet died. He gets up for a walk and runs into Zayto who says he too has nightmares of that day. And often. Feeling some survivor’s guilt, Aiyon wonders if their teammates would still be alive if they made different choices that day. Zayto avoids the question and says they should get some sleep in order to help Dr. Akana dig up the Ranger Keys tomorrow.
Dr. Akana leads the excavation of Purple Beard’s treasure chest which will be on display at the Pine Ridge museum. The museum’s curator Ms. Cotton is on the air with J-Borg to talk about the potential for the pirate’s legendary talismans to be inside the chest.
Fern catches up to her girlfriend Izzy after school and offers to help her study for her electronics test. Izzy says she’s fine and thanks her for the offer with a kiss. Izzy leaves for hurdles training and the other Rangers arrive to pick Izzy up. Ollie also offers to give Izzy some tips, but she says she’ll be fine.

The Rangers are showing Aiyon what a day on the beach is like during Earth summer. Javi takes Aiyon to try out ice cream.
Ollie was supposed to pick up samples for Javi’s story, but he completely forgot while he was buying brand new headphones that were just released today. Ollie apologizes, but he cares very much about always getting the latest technology
Out of nowhere, Lord Zedd appears to try and steal some Sporix. Void Knight thought he was dead. But he is alive thanks to Reaghoul who is able to reanimate dead people from any period in their lives. Thus, he has resurrected Zedd from when he was most evil and has put a compliance collar on him to order him around.

Izzy is leading the other Rangers and the Coach Bella refugees on their free workout through the mountain trail. They take a short break. The others notice Izzy and Fern seem much closer now when they had been fierce rivals who hated each other just days before.
Izzy excitedly leads the other Rangers through a tough workout session. Papa Garcia stops by and asks about the mysterious Hotshots Gym brochures that’ve been left around for him to find. Izzy admits it was her and asks if she could get an advance on her allowance to enroll at the gym led by the renowned Coach Bella. Papa Garcia thinks it could be beneficial for Izzy, but he’s not sure.
