Awkward title is awkward. But it’s easy to get over it after watching the first two episodes of tvN’s Nine – Nine Time Travels. It takes both first and second episodes to really get a sense of what the characters and what we might be getting ourselves into.

It was my fourth Super Sentai series and I can confidently say Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters may be my favorite one so far.
The KBS Drama Special has presented some of the most provocative, original and even irreverent stories on Korean television. Different from the more mainstream primetime and daily dramas, Drama Special has focused on anything from psychological thrillers like the miniseries White Christmas to Daughters of Bilitis Club, a controversial one-episode drama about a group of lesbian best friends living in the city.
There have been many high school-set Korean dramas in recent years, all with varying degrees of commercial and creative success. But none have been able to (though many didn’t aspire to) accurately and realistically portray the lives of contemporary youths.
But KBS’s School 2013 was able to do just that.
When I first decided to jump into the other tokusatsu franchise known as Kamen Rider after having officially getting hooked on Super Sentai, I planned on OOO, the 2010-2011 season to be the one that’d ease me in.
Instead, that introduction season ended up being Kamen Rider Fourze which still sucked me into this brand new world of Riders. I ended up holding off on OOO until Fourze was weeks from wrapping up and the newest season, Wizard was ready to go.
But I’ve finally finished Kamen Rider OOO and it was definitely not what I had ever expected.
Lack of ideas. Wanting to Filipino-ize a good story. Just part of buying the rights to air the original. Whatever the reason, both ABS-CBN and GMA have increasingly adapted foreign dramas for Filipino audiences to very mixed results. While some have been successful in one way or another, most either fell short or just plain embarrassed itself, especially when compared to the original series.
