So in needing to find something to post during this coming month where I will be out of the country with no guarantee of stable internet access, I decided to finally catch up on the episodes of Power Rangers Dino Fury and then Power Rangers Cosmic Fury I had been putting off to watch.
And yet, I decided to watch Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always on the day of release anyway. And to my shock, I actually quite enjoyed it. In fact, I think it’s probably the best (live action) thing to come out of the franchise in a decade. At least, it’s my favorite thing.
What I do know is that I am very much looking forward to Voltes V: Legacy. For now, there’s a lot of positive things to take away from this trailer. I hope it does well. I hope it delivers. And I hope that if it is successful, perhaps others can be inspired to take a long, hard look at how they do things with their own adaptations in the future.
Amelia is filming a story on Area 62 for Mystery Buzz and interviews Pop Pop who once worked as a janitor here. Pop Pop, however, doesn’t have any interesting stories about his time here. Though he is very much afraid of the radiation that is still present in the area. He thinks he’s already developed radiation blotches on his body, but it’s just blueberry juice.
The Rangers are excited for Javi singing his original song “Spotlight” at the Buzzblast Songathon. Papa Garcia arrives and has Javi perform a bit of the song as one last practice before they head to Buzzblast for the competition.
Izzy and Aiyon challenge each other to a bike race in the mountains, but Izzy ends up flying off her bike when Aiyon bumps into her. They end up finding an old Area 62 truck. Izzy finds a box and when Aiyon says they can share what’s inside, Izzy explains the Earth concept of “Finders keepers, losers weepers.”
After Jane sees a ghost engulf a man with their own eyes, an excited Amelia is eager to investigate. Ollie offers to help, as do the others. But before that, Solon directs them to a disturbance near the warehouses. They head over but only run into Void Knight.
Slyther and Mucus report to Void Queen that Void Knight is still missing. Santaura uses a Sporix blob to summon Trackenslash and tells Slyther and Mucus to supervise him as he searches for Tarrick.
Santaura takes a Sporix blob from the machine to summon Squashblight and orders him to get revenge on humans. Tarrick reminds her that they already talked about not seeking revenge and says he had always been careful not to hurt humans while gathering enough Sporix for her revival. Santaura says he will do as she says if he really loves her. Tarrick and Squashblight head out.
Tarrick is surprised to find Santaura holding a Sporix blob which she says she got from his machine outside. She assures him that no one saw her, but she questions why he is being so secretive about her to the others. Tarrick says he must remain in the Void Knight suit to ensure power over his minions. But Santaura suggests they could become even more powerful if they use all the sporux in their quest for revenge. Tarrick again says they don’t need revenge, only for them to get off this planet.
